Ubersuggest accurate?

Hi I am relatively new to the entire SEO thing and I came across Ubersuggest from Neil Patel podcast. I am not exactly using it for word traffic but I am using it for the traffic monitoring of my competitors and other similar websites to my own so that I myself can spot good websites to learn from. Just wanna know if Ubersuggest is accurate for telling you it's traffic flow. submitted by /u/emotionalnomer [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2IKSbxI

Does TLD get included for EMD?

For example with the new .dev domains, would game.dev be considered an EMD for the search game dev? I've heard that TLD doesn't matter for SEO, so gamedev.com and gamedev.net would be the same, but does game.dev count as an EMD? I'd assume no or there's no information about it, but I figured I'd ask just in case. submitted by /u/713984265 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2UepV86

Do you always make sure there are keywords to rank for when writing content? Or do you ever just go for topic dominance regardless of search volume?

I ask because I’m struggling to find good topics that have good search volume for some prospects. Haven’t met with them yet to talk about their industry, and I’m trying to do some research to find content before meeting with them so I don’t look like a total flub. One is an HR business. I can find a couple topics like “hiring an employee”, creating an employee handbook, managing workplace conflict, and a couple others... But that’s still not a whole lot of content. I was thinking of focusing in on a niche like “HR for the restaurant industry” and just dominating serps for that niche... but there’s not a whole lot of HR related searches specific to the restaurant industry, or any industry that I could find... So... is it worth it to go after topics even if there isn’t a lot of search volume? The other is an Insurance recruiting website, and I’m having the same problem. Do we just optimize a page for “sales jobs” and “insurance jobs in X city”? Or do we start blogging... submit...

Does removing fake user profile pages reduce my ranking given they are 98% of my website pages?

I have a dilemma and would appreciate help from anyone here. I have a website that is a forum with good traffic. I've started paying more attention to driving traffic to the website via organic search and am targeting particular keywords. Unfortunately, my website has been under the attack of bots that keep signing up and creating user profiles on the website and include links to their websites in their profile descriptions. These users are not able to publish any content on the website except for creating a user profile page. The dilemma I have is that while these user profile pages are not good, they also contain the standard innerlinks & meta descriptions I use on every page of the website to link to main page via hyperlinks for keywords I'm targeting. Now I am looking at my site on ahrefs and can see that my UR and DR are low (less than 30). I have 40K pages, strong majority of which are these user profiles. Should I purge all these fake user profile pages given t...

11k of 37k pages on our site "Crawled - currently not indexed" in Google Search Console

Howdy. I've been researching for over an hour why such a large number of our pages haven't been indexed and haven't found anything definitive so I'm looking for some expert insight. For some background: This an ecommerce site and we launched a large number of products (about 4k) on the site about 20 days ago, so that is likely a portion of what is unindexed. I've looked for issues with duplicate content, page titles, and canonical tags without much semblance of a pattern to those 11k pages. There is very little competition for our products in search so I'm surprised they are in limbo. From my research thus far the consensus seems to be that there is not much I can do except wait until Google decides to add them to their index. From your experience are there other things I should investigate or just wait it out? submitted by /u/langstn [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2EjLdKN

SquareSpace has a potentially major indexing issue.

sqaurespace is forcing 2 duplicate copies of a page to exist, one with a trailing / at the end of the address bar, and one without. When you make a page on your site using Sqaurespace, it is made without any trailing / in the URL. But then Sqaurespace forces a duplicate page, that has a trailing /, to be considered canonical in Googles Search Console! So all your pages you made on Sqaurespace, are not considered canonical! Instead a duplicate page with a trailing / that you didn't even know existed is pushed up, Resulting in very odd indexing behavior in Google Search Console! You check your URL, and it is not indexed, only to find out a duplicate page with a trailing / is the one indexed. (but only most of them time, not always) There is no consistency, it is very odd, and i am very concerned about this! (Even the internal linking Sqaurespace uses does not use a trailing /, and yet Sqaurespace still forces a trailing / duplicate page and designates it as canonical! Google ca...

Product Schema issue in Search Console

Has anyone else had an issue with validating fixes regarding product id? I am using sku for my product id, it validates fine using google's structured data testing tool, but when I validate fix in GSC it says the problem still exists, even though it recognises the sku under URL inspection. Pretty frustrating, just wondering if anyone else has had this come up recently as the new GSC adds more features. submitted by /u/ObsoleteMidnight [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2ED6uAu

Recommendation on SEO tool for multiple sites on a single domain

I'm currently getting set up using Brightedge as a SEO tool for a corporate domain with multiple WordPress sites. So far, even though it's the officially sanctioned service by the company, I'm not all that impressed with its functionality. I'm specifically wanting more help with back links, keyword suggestions, and most importantly, competitive analysis on a site to site (or blog to blog) basis, rather than domain to domain. Our other competitors also have quite a few separate sites per domain, so we're not apples to apples, more like bushels of fruit and baskets of vegetables. Is there any guides/websites that compare all the other tools, besides Brightedge? I've used Moz before, and love using their MozBar. Also heard Ahrefs used a lot. Is there any recommendations for an affordable service for my situation--one domain, multiple sites? submitted by /u/myinnerbanjo [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://i...

Any easy, do-it-yourself backlink strategies?

Hey everyone. I've got a website that I'm trying to at least get on the radar of search engines. It's a new site, so it doesn't have much authority, nor do I as the writer. So at this point I just don't feel like I'm at the level where I can effectively reach out to others for backlinks, write guest posts, etc. Is there anything I can do on my own, even if it's just "baby steps" that might give me even a small lift SEO-wise? Like websites where I can legitimately post a link to my content, that would be recognized by Google, and wouldn't be simply spamming? I'm not looking to game the system for quick and easy results, just trying to find a few more small things that I can do that might help a little. Any advice is much appreciated! submitted by /u/rabbit102 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2SueAzb

How do I get started with this idea?

I have an idea of an information / product review type database website that I want to create. The website will have very large number of product pages. Each page will have photographs and various information about each product. The pages will also have a taxonomy type system. For example if a certain product was featured in a film, it will have a clickable link of a film name. Then if the user clicks the film name it will take them to the page where a list will be shown of all the different products that were featured in that film. It will also have a name of the celebrity/actor who worn the said product and likewise will have a clickable link of their name. I have found a website which is in a way similar to what I want to create which will probably be the best way to explain my goal. This website has a structure which is similar to what I want to create. Here it is jamesbondlifestyle.com I will heavily rely on long tail keywords to start generating traffic and the fact that mo...

Linkbuilding, The biggest lie ever?

So... I am terrible at SEO, Like Completely terrible. I understand what needs to be done but i have no idea how to implement it. Now, I've started to learn and i'm currently looking at link profiles for all of my competitors that have page 1 rankings.... and let me tell you that this "natural backlink profile" just looks like complete bullshit to me.... Every high authority backlink / pretty much every backlink my competitors have just looks like spam, Nothing looks natural about it at all, a lot of them look like they've paid to be listed there, some of them are directories, there isn't really any backlinks coming from websites that look remotely reputable. Is this just the beauty industry? Or is anybody else finding this? I'm personally scared to backlink after all this stuff i have read but now.... why am i worried? One thing i can say is though, none of them seem to be blog comments. submitted by /u/revivehairartists [link] [comments]...

The Best Way to Get Big Time Backlinks Is to "Create News" Or Through Interesting, Creative Content

Hey guys, some time ago I wrote a post about how I get high authority dofollow links and a lot of people thought it was beneficial. Figured I'd update everyone for what's been working in 2019. So... here it goes... basically you have to "create news" or come up with informative or creative content that is high quality enough that others want to write about it. What I mean by that is as follows: Create The News: Look at the latest news headlines. What is trending? What big events are coming up? What are people talking about? Find how this info relates to your site or businesses and then create VISUAL content that you can pitch to journalists and online publications. Here is a simple example... back in August, Starbucks released their pumpkin spice latte incredibly early... for some reason people love talking about this and it was immediately trending on social media. So, we simply mapped out geotagged twitter mentions and created a map showing who the top "Pu...

is my SEO company pulling my leg?

Asked my SEO guy to start working on some new keyword rankings 9 days before the end of last month (22 of January). He said that he implemented the strategy right after our email - optimized the page, did a Google Post and created pages for the service in each of my directory listings(?). I just received my SEO report for February and there is nothing on it with the keywords I asked about. I asked him why and he said forgot to add it to the report to be monitored by mistake. he also said that it takes at least 2 weeks for the data to propagate and once it shows he would send it. By my math, if he did what he said he did, we should already have 2 weeks of data. Maybe I'm wrong (I probably am), but shouldn't he be able to pull a report for the optimizations he said he did despite it not being on the list? submitted by /u/T-888 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2EnBuD1

Advice for rebranding

Now I know I have to redirect all the pages, domain wide to the mew domain and specify in Webmaster Tools the domain has been changed to the other. Now while I know how to redirect them without loosing any links, my fear is that the new domain will drop like a rock in serps. The old domain has around 3k unique domains backlinks and decent trafic. Also the old domain is 13 years old while thr new one is 4-5 and wasn’t activrle very much. Can Anyone Help me Explain this?

So I launched a new wordpress site with good on page seo but pretty much zero links. My niche isn't super competitive and after a few days I started to see a couple pages ranking for my KWs. Then I start dropping out of the top 100 for a couple KWs.
