I've seen a bunch of questions out there since yesterday's SearchGPT announcement about how to shift strategy and what the future of search looks like. I've been doing my own testing to see what's working and what isn't, but Search Engine Land just posted an article with 7 strategies to prep for the next evolution of search that I thought I'd share.
The content strategy piece was by far the largest section of this entire article, which makes sense.
- Research and Intent Mapping: Understand what appears in AI Overviews and tailor your content accordingly.
- Content Strategy: Create diverse, authoritative, and fresh content.
- User Interactions and Click Data: Optimize based on user engagement metrics.
- Experience: Enhance user experience with personalization and CRO.
- Saturate SERPs: Aim for comprehensive SERP coverage.
- Data Quality and Schema Markup: Maintain high-quality, up-to-date data.
- Authority and Relevancy: Boost your brand's visibility and authority.
What do you think? Have you been testing with AI in mind yet?
