Advice Needed for Site Sabotage

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping y'all can give me some advice for how to combat sabotage to one of my sites.

I've been publishing Raised to Walk (link in my profile) since 2013 as a side ministry project. I was doing a lot of ghostwriting for Christian nonprofits at the time and I wanted my own outlet where I could write my own thoughts, not to keywords, and without any editing.

Since I wasn't writing to keywords, I didn't really track or analyze SERPs, which I realize now was a big mistake.

I discovered a few months ago that my site has been the target of a negative SEO campaign. The attacks have come in multiple ways, but this is what I need advice on.

They got false URLS indexed in the search engines (Google seems to be the most susceptible to sabotage and manipulation). The attacks on my site are just one small part of the targeting and, as I said, this has always been a side project. So I've just been adding redirects from the false urls to the actual article page as I come across them.

Examples of the indexed false urls on one article

Actual URL; [domain]/bible-study/jobs-response-to-zophar-job-ch-12-14/

Fake URLs

[domain]/jobs-response-to-zophar-job-ch-12-14/

[domain]/jobs-response-to-zophar-job-ch-12-14/jobs-response-to-zophar-job-ch-12-14-2/?origin=serp_auto

[domain]/bible-study/jobs-response-to-zophar-job-ch-12-14/attachment/jobs-response-to-zophar-job-ch-12-14-2/

[domain]/bible-study/jobs-response-to-zophar-job-ch-12-14/attachment/jobs-response-to-zophar-job-ch-12-14-2/?srsltid=AfmBOorbvvk8-gBw0Hofjya5Rr6fXzI-ATHACxCAz_UCX78Wm5Y2vgP8

Another one (I'm positive the sabotage is politically motivated)

Actual URL [domain]/foreign-land/hanukkah-hypocrites-open-letter-ted-cruz/

Fake URLs

[domain]/hanukkah-hypocrites-open-letter-ted-cruz/hanukkah-hypocrites-ted-cruz-2/

[domain]/foreign-land/hanukkah-hypocrites-open-letter-ted-cruz/attachment/hanukkah-hypocrites-ted-cruz-2/

[domain]/foreign-land/hanukkah-hypocrites-open-letter-ted-cruz/attachment/hanukkah-hypocrites-ted-cruz/

[domain]/foreign-land/hanukkah-hypocrites-open-letter-ted-cruz/attachment/hanukkah-hypocrites-ted-cruz-2/?srsltid=AfmBOopB6TkYNznOhZO_UgzPNIAq3hV-fjU7hNdw_pEo6RszwoKqkqgZ

Which has been working; however, now what is happening is that a session ID is being appended to the end of the search results and then my redirect doesn't work. You can see this in the last set of redirects, I had already set up a redirect for that one fake attachment url, but with the session ID, the url isn't work.

And just FYI, those session IDs are ONLY being appended to results for my site. This is part of the sabotage. I just looked at the other results that come up in Google for "on hanukkah and hypocrites an open letter to ted cruz'" (I searched without quotes). No other result had a session ID appended to it.

So I guess this isn't just an SEO/website question, but also a legal one. How to I get these [insert your favorite expletive here] to stop sabotaging my site?

HTTP-HTTPS redirects: domain level or each URL?

Googling for answers seems to give conflicting answers here. We have a domain that has been HTTP but some individual URLs have been HTTPS (like form pages). We are about to deploy HTTPS redirect on the server to get everything going to https://www.domain.com . Do we have to go to the effort of a big 301 redirect list of all page-level URLs without Google dropping our earned page rank? One website, two properties (domains)

I wasn't sure how to frame that title so let me explain; Due to error on my part, I have ended up with, a www.xyz.com , version of my website, and one that's just xyz.com. Now I'm tracking my traffic differently on GSC and GA. I'm not sure how to feel about this. Is there anyone with a similar situation? Should I just go on like usual or are there things I need to start doing differently? Kindly advise. submitted by /u/Blessed_Dude_101010 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/87Z2MRA
