The implication of creating tons of suburb pages for a trades company.

I see competitors in my city who have literally 200 pages. And they're titlesd (Suburb name) plumbers. So 200 pages for each suburb as well as the cities main keywords. Now these pages are all exactly the same except the page title, some of the headings are different. They have the exact content on all 200 pages. Except the suburb or areas name is replaced. To me this looks dodgey although so many people do it. Where they'll have a page covering every suburb in that city. submitted by /u/Goldliner6263 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2YMBoAi

Script to find any pages with no-index tags on them?

I'm trying to do some inventory on our website of any pages that may have a noindex tag on them. I got an alert from Google Search console indicating they found pages on the site, but it looks like they only listed one example, which was on a page where it was appropriate. This made me wonder about how I can get better visibility into any/all pages on my site that may have this tag. Does anyone know of any tools out there that can scan your site for something like this? submitted by /u/alltorntogether [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2YLWXkM

Google needs to understand small sites can produce good content too

Google relies too much on the domain score. There are contents much comprehensive than the ones produced by the bigger sites which show up way higher in the search results. One time a Google engineer asked, "you may create good content but do people read it?"   But if Google only let them be read...   This kind of approach is like saying the food was great because it has made by a famous cook when it wasn't actually that good. submitted by /u/Rangerswill [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2VuGXkQ

How to Build Links Using Google Alerts

Link building is hard. But did you know that Google makes it easier for you? Seriously… they do make it easier because they provide you with free tools . No, I’m not talking about the ones you already use like Google Search Console and Google Analytics … They actually have tons of other tools. Some you may have heard of, but I bet you don’t use them. And today I am going to show you how you can build links using Google Alerts . What is Google Alerts? As the saying goes, if it isn’t on Google, it doesn’t exist. Google is the most popular search engine in the world. Their database contains hundreds of billions of web pages and is over 100,000,000 gigabytes in size. Because of their massive size, they are able to crawl web pages more frequently than any SEO tool including my own, Ubersuggest . This is precisely why you want to start using Google Alerts to build links. So, what is Google Alerts? As I mentioned above, they have a bigger database of web pages than any other lin...

Thinking Beyond the Link Building “Campaign” [Case Study]

Posted by Paddy_Moogan Over the years, I’ve often referred to our link building work as “campaigns”, which isn't wrong, but isn’t completely right, either. I think that as an industry we need to alter our mindset to focus on what link building should be: an ongoing, integrated, business-as-usual activity. Link building processes that work for brands now and that will continue to work in the future need to sit closer to the rest of the business. This means tighter integration with other disciplines, or at the very least, acknowledgment that link building isn’t a siloed activity or dark art like it used to be. In this post, I’d like to propose how we should think about link building and share some ways to make it more sustainable, efficient, and effective. The problem with campaigns I want to start by being super clear on something, and I make no apologies for reiterating this throughout this post: Link building campaigns aren’t a bad thing. My core point is that they should be ...

Ranked Keywords on Youtube

Can someone explain to me why these never show up when I'm in the youtube edit keyword box.. like sometimes ill type keywords in and they won't show as even being ranked. Ill press save. then just go look at my video and notice some will be ranked? Then i'll go back to the editor and they show as ranked? Or vice versa. They will show as ranked in the keyword editer, then i click save and look at my video and notice its not ranked anymore? Is this a glitch, or just how SEO works? submitted by /u/ChaotixEDM [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/38hvUAL

Migrated a blog from Blogspot and don't know what to do with landing page

I am fairly new to SEO and trying to figure out the best way forward. I recently migrated my Blogspot page (a niche content site) and used the equivalent of 301 forwarding. However, Blogspot's home page was just a page full of posts. I put in minimal effort to use the new landing page to provide links and brief summaries to direct visitors. However, because the landing page has a higher PA, it sometimes outranks the more important pages for keywords. Any ideas for how I can capitalize on a higher PA landing page? I'm considering giving the page unique content, but I also hope that I wouldn't lose significantly on those keywords that are currently driving traffic. Any thoughts? Thanks. submitted by /u/UnoVariations [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2YHyYmB

Can someone explain ranked keywords to me...

I feel like an idiot. I have vidiq and getting 5/5 on ranked keywords is like impossible. I sat there for 30 minutes trying all different types of keywords to try and get a number ranking on even one of them.... i eventually gave up... and now when i look at the tags an hour later cause i was going to try again i see i got two ranking keywords one for #6 and #12 Why did those not show up before, but showed up an hour later? Kind of really confused by all this and i apologize for the silly question. submitted by /u/ChaotixEDM [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/3eMmSy6

I build wix sites for small business clients for $2,600 with keywords installed and content.

Don't ever believe the hype, that just because something calls itself a free website builder or has great TV Commercials, that it's only worth $300 a website, haha well it sure is not. I build small business clients all around America , WIX websites for $2,600, websites that work. Your just so much better off paying for a website and getting 15 days of work done instead of someone working on it for one day. Just imagine 15 days of someone's work. That's a lot of love. My Wordpress sites are $14,000 Website clean ups and enhancements $4,200. All wix parts completed. If Interested please email murdasec@gmail.com and ask for James Donahue If you are looking for something much cheaper I do have a student who designs websites for cheaper around the 1k area. Local SEO is targeting other cities with same names

I have a legacy client that we still do monthly blog posts + a few social media posts a month. The client cleaning service with a 10 mi service radius. Once a year, the client becomes frustrated that calls are coming in from out of state. GMB lists services areas within this 10 mi radius. Every page mentions the state (browser title, content, & footer) They're on Yelp and several local directories Google is the top traffic source for states outside our state Within the 10 mi radius - 2 cities have the same name as 1 other city in US, 1 city has the same name as 13 other cities, 1 city with same name as 6 cities, 1 city with 23 other cities. We're targeting 3 other cities/towns without cities with the same name. We've recommended updating the way they answer the phone with what's your zip code, but she doesn't want to do that. Any ideas on how to update her local SEO to increase the calls locally vs. nationally? submitted by /u/lilameliej [link] ...
