wix seo broke my website?

Hey guys. A couple days ago, my aunt let me practice some of the basic seo stuff I've learned on her website. I started by going through wix's seo checklist, so I get her business and website on Google. After connecting her domain and finishing the checklist, the website has still not gone live after 4 days. Any advice? Also happy new years! submitted by /u/Graphty [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/qHp9TBL

SEO question

If a fairly decent website provides a backlink to my website however they don't rank for any keywords related to my genre, is that much of an issue? It's a publication website which covers a wide range of topics that does get decent traffic however it seems to be quantity led rather than quality. Is it worth linking to them? I have done competitor analysis and see quite a lot of these links so I'm assuming there is value however thought it worthwhile asking the group submitted by /u/Last_Experience_3580 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/Q0Ie6Lw

It Took Me 3 Years To Land This Client

About 3 years ago I was introduced to a friend of a friend named Nathan who runs a successful window-cleaning business in the Chicagoland area. At that point in time, Nathan had been doing it for about 2 years or so and was relatively established in window cleaning terms, while I on the other hand had really just started and was struggling to get my footing. This is important to remember because at that time Nathan despite my pitch to him wasn't interested in growing his business through my services, but I understood given our situation at that exact moment in time as he preferred somebody more established. Not a big deal to me, and if you fast forward through time we would both continue down our respective paths as Nathan continued window washing, while I continued to grow my SEO business one client at a time. Here's the important part though, despite Nathans's hesitancy to work with me I never closed my doors to him often times asking him about business if I saw him (no...

Google Search Console and Merchant Listings

I have over 300 products, and only 30 of them are showing up in Google's free listings. Do you have any tips on how can I increase the number of my listings showing up? No issues on the account, all information in the feed is provided. Site speed 90+, FCP and LCP below 1.5s according to pagespeed insights so core web vitals also passed. I've tried re-indexing my product pages on search console, and the number of valid URLs for merchant listings on the search console has indeed increased - but it is decreasing every day by a few, i/e 108 good URLS - next day 102 good URLS - etc. The missing URLs don't even go to poor or "need improvement" URLs, they just dissappear. It only increased in the search console, when I go to Merchant Center report for free listings, the products showing up are still around 30-35. Also, I know that there are a bunch of other sellers competing with me, and by all means - I don't mean I want to rank higher, I just want my products ...

How do I know my ranking

My Google search console says my average is 24.6 with my most recent ranking being 4.6. I tried going incognito and doing a search. I can't find my site anywhere. I even went as far as including the entire business name with the keywords, the location, and my name. I see social media links that lead to my site, but not Google. How does the search console base this position if I can't see my site at all. I've already verified it's in Google by using site: www.site.com . submitted by /u/papifunko [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/6QxCnhF

I just created a new website for my business, and the top search result when you type in the name of the business is the about page. 8x Growth As My Client Takes The 1st Page On A National Level

I first spoke to this client months ago when they approached me about doing some marketing for their smoke shop and at first, I was a little worried as many of you know that marketing things like porn, smoking, drugs and other things that fall under that 18+ category can be very difficult as they have very limited pathways when it comes to platforms that they can use as sites like Facebook and Tiktok don't allow these things; however, I was still very excited at the opportunity to have a national level client and decided I would hit the ground running on this businesses SEO efforts. It was a true challenge from the start. We had around 200 users per month which wasn't bad but it was not enough to truly make a name for ourselves, mainly because they had entirely ignored an SEO strategy. Title tags were nonexistent, product descriptions were missing in action, and there was no schema- nothing at all. After months of hard work and dedication, I managed to totally change the situ...

SERP keywords

So, I've been making articles and including keywords as per my software suggests for the keywords I want to rank for. I've been aiming for them to score 90+. These words are also relevant for pages on my site that aren't articles or blogs but in fact list services. Can I add a handful of them to relevant pages on my site even though that page wouldn't be a 90+ score, does it help to just have them throughout yourpages too? Rather than just counting on my 10 blog posts for serp ranking submitted by /u/jaqenhgaar547 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/ZAsGQfo

What are the top techniques for SEO?

If you have a website, you will need to take certain steps to ensure that it is found by search engines. These steps include the use of keyword research and social media, as well as using backlinks to your website. Keyword research Keyword research is an important part of SEO, and it can help your website get more visitors. This is because the right keywords will lead potential users to your website, and it can also help you optimize your content. However, it's important to remember that keyword research isn't just about choosing a single word to target. It's about understanding what your target audience wants and needs. The first step is to brainstorm a list of keywords. These might be related to your product or service. They can be as broad or as specific as you want. Once you've come up with a list of words or phrases that you think may be useful, you can enter them into Google and check for results. Some tools will generate autocomplete suggestions. In my opinion, AI content detectors such as HuggingFace and Originality.ai are not always able to accurately detect AI content. Sometimes, content written by humans is mistakenly classified as AI content. what do you think about this?

Another question about AI content.

How can non-Google entities identify AI-generated content? I purchased some articles from someone on Fiverr, and am wondering if it's AI. Top 8 steps to Onboard New SEO clients from Any Industry to Improve Trust in 2023

Hey SEOs. Sharing this post here as I did in the Marketing Sub too as it might be helpful to many. A recurring topic here, whether you are in PPC, or SEO... is how to get clients. However, one of the most important factors linked to client acquisition is onboarding. The onboarding experience will determine your business's direction and influence the trust clients have in you and your business. Onboarding is the process of introducing a new client to your business and establishing a relationship with them. Seo noob questions -Backlinks

I am new to building websites and am trying to figure out the basics of back links. I understand what they are and why they are important but besides just asking other websites to link to your article or posting links in forums are there other ways to build even the most basic back links? I am wondering for the experienced site builders what they did for there first, second or third back links when they first got in the game? Did you buy them on fiver? Did you just ask hundreds of websites to consider you? If someone kind of enough to explain exactly what they did to get there first back links in detail I would greatly appreciate it! How to incorporate multiple language spellings of the same name into the SEO of a website?

I have now built around 20 good-quality (in my pov) backlinks to our website, both with the help of brokers and directly contacting the backlinking websites. However, the concern that I am facing now is what happens if any of these website owners or brokers decide to remove my link from their blog and give it to someone who bids a higher price. Need Help in Finalizing Business Name, SEO & Usability concerns

Ranking data during the December 2022 Google helpful content update and link spam update

Google is now rolling out two different Google search algorithm updates simultaneously, the  December 2022 helpful content system and the December 2022 link spam update . The helpful content update started on December 5th, and the link spam update started on December 14th. Both updates are not finished rolling out, in fact, Google said that the helpful content update “is going to take longer” to complete than the two-week timeline previously given. I asked several data providers to send me data on what they are seeing with the Google search results during these updates, keep in mind, it is somewhat hard to look at data in aggregate and say this ranking volatility is related to one update over another. But nevertheless, I wanted to share what the data providers are noticing. Data providers RankRanger. Let’s start with RankRanger who sent us data broken out by the start of each update. The site is live if you enter the url in the browser however it doesn't get indexed in google or any search engines... Can anyone advise on what should I do for it to get indexed? Thanks so much! submitted by /u/pablikvanov [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/ULZrQyW

How do I create a megamenu in WordPress without destroying my Google Pagespeed?

I created a megamenu using elementskit for my WordPress website and it scores terrible with unused javascript. Has anyone created a megamenu on WordPress with minimal impact to Google Pagespeed? If so how/what did you use? submitted by /u/iotabadger [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/9Nis4qO

Expired domain I bought and Redirected not passing metrics to my site.

I bought an expired domain with good backlinks a few weeks ago and redirected to my site. Nothing has changed ever since I redirected the domain. What do you think I should do? The expired domain is already showing on semrush but nothing has been passed to my site. No DA/PA increase, no backlinks passed on, no traffic, and no rank. What should I do? submitted by /u/kingoftask [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/Z9sHRo6
