Local SEO question - targeting cities and regions

My company is regional (full east coast) and looking to expand our footprint nationally. We have about 25% of our customer base outside the east coast.

I’m on SEMrush now doing KW research and I’m seeing some very low difficulty scores for like: [service] companies in Dallas or San Diego [service] companies.

I come from a SaaS background and in those roles I had a lot of success doing ranking pages where I would compare our competitors and us on a list to target like “best [software type] software companies] search terms.

I’m now in a B2B service industry where many competitors are hyper local. Could I do a similar strategy for each of our cities and just take copy from those competitors websites (not plagiarize) and roll it into a ranking type blog post?

With SaaS it was easy because features and benefits were very easy to compare. This is a little more grey so I just wanted to be sure there is some transference of the strategy that could work.

Local seo vs. natiowide seo?

I've done SEO for local businesses but I recently got my first client that sells an item nation wide. Any suggestions for doing nationwide SEO? I am used to making geopages for local towns. I was going to do the same with some input from the client about what cities or towns he would like to show up in? submitted by /u/Letmeinterviewyou [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News http://bit.ly/2JHy0k0

GMB territory inching with service company

Seeking advice on extending our service area, while our main GMB profile states SD County, we only rank in our neighborhood but we have the team to service much more jobs. The boss wants us to get addresses in these hot territories within the county and use call rail numbers to validate the GMB profile. Question: Does this still work? Will it catch up with us? OR is there a better way to rank in a territory for a service.
