I'm managing a network of blogs within the same niche, where 4 of the sites (currently ranking in the top 1 to 4 positions) are performing very well for the business's main keywords. In addition, I have another 16 blogs on the same topic that are still getting some traffic from similar, more long-tail keywords, but are no longer worth maintaining individually due to lack of time. I'm considering redirecting those 16 blogs to the main ones, carefully avoiding keyword cannibalization while leveraging their residual traffic and backlinks to strengthen the top-performing sites. I subscribe to AHREFS and monitor several websites with the tool. This evening, I received an email from them with their list of warnings for a site I manage, and see in the email, a "Pages have high AI content levels." I click on that and there is one page it claims it has detected high AI Content. The funny to me thing is I hand-crafted the content on that page, back in 2022 - long before I even knew about AI. Some background on me: I understand the concept of SEO, but have zero idea about how to optimize. I have a client website that we built in 2021. We performed organic SEO and it was ranking on the first page for all 9 of its primary keywords in 2023. Hey all, We currently have a page that ranks position 6 for 'sicily holidays' - it has lots of content, including some bits about the Aeolian Islands. My boss has proposed to split up the page so we have a Sicily Holidays page and a Aeolian Islands page. This would then preserve our Aeolian-related keywords. My only worry is that non of our competitors have the Aeolian Islands on their Sicily pages, which makes me think it gives us more relevance and is why we rank higher than bigger competitors. What would you do in this situation? I'm looking at testing the page split and then reverting if the ranking drops however if there's a clear cut answer so we're not doubling up work that would be ideal! I submitted the sitemap in Mar 12, and Google Search Console shows that it has discovered 20 pages. However, it never crawled 18 out of the 20 pages with a reason saying "Discovered - Currently not indexed". I had an article ranking on page 1 in Google. Recently, I watched a video from Edward Sturm about improving SEO by adding outbound links to authoritative sources. I built a site and AI generated about 200 poor quality SEO blog entries, back when I naively underestimated google's site quality control. The blogs weren't all that much related to my site specific function (for context the site is for help for a specific thing in an education system, and I published blog entries for the whole education system of little unique value). The blogs didn't have internal linking or linking of any kind and were just text blobs + CTA visual elements in between. Google caught on and demoted most of those pages, and my traffic dropped to max 20 daily impressions. I’m looking for some SEO advice from people who have dealt with multi-location ranking. I currently run a website that ranks pretty well for several keywords in one Canadian province. The site is fairly established and performs well locally. Now I’m looking to target the same type of keywords in another province that’s quite far away geographically. I’m debating between two approaches: Option 1: Create a completely separate website for the new province, set up a Google Business Profile there, and build the SEO for that site independently. This is a question about Search Engine Optimization in the other direction - How can I make some content non-indexable without otherwise impacting the site? I'm toying with a project to obfuscate content from AI on sites served via CDN. My current plan is to have javascript de-obfuscate the content on the client side, but implement in such a way that indexers won't be able to render the content. This does assume that AI content indexing and normal search engine are essentially equivalent, which I think is at least a good place to start. I'm pretty confident that I can multiply XOR encrypt the contents, using one of the network security obfuscation techniques, but that is running a race with the indexer for how much CPU it's willing to dedicate to the page render. Hey everyone. I need some advice. I have a site that's an online tool for generating PIX QR Codes (a Brazilian payment method). For the last two months, it's been at the #1 spot on Google for its main keywords. Today, out of nowhere, it plummeted.
