I own a general education website which has a page traffic of about 60,000 per month and its pure organic from Google. What's happened is that a few months ago, I posted about 10 articles which target Indian audience and it went mental. 80% of my traffic became Indian and revenue generated by it was just 5% of my revenue since CPM and CPC is very low for India. The problem:
- With every passing month, the Indian traffic seems to be going higher and higher while the traffic of other countries such as USA and EU are stagnant or falling and my revenue is hence suffering with it. Is it that if I get traffic from one country, traffic from other countries will automatically drop?
- I stopped posting pages targeting Indian content even though I identified 20-30 potential articles which can surge my traffic to over 2-3 million in a year. This was because I wanted to build my other country traffic and Adsense revenue rather than increasing traffic from India. Is this a good idea?
- What is the revenue source I can target by owning a website traffic with 5-10 million page views from India (since adsense will still end up giving me about $100 per month after 5 million views)? Planning to open a Indian website so asking if its worth it.
