How Many People Are Clicking A Company's Link On A Google SERP

I have a client that is well established and doing well. They discovered that their main competitor is using the name of their company in the SEO Title on Google SERP pages for paid adverts. Their name is trademarked so they know they have a case against them. What they wanted to know is if there is a way to determine how many people are clicking on the link in a typical month We know the total traffic for that keyword per month but we want to know how many times people are clicking on that specific link? Can anyone recommend a tool that would give that information? Thanks submitted by /u/pchees [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/lEAbJnz

How TF Do You Optimize For Semantic Search with Low KD LOCAL Keywords and Crappy Competition?

Let me explain. I specialize in local SEO. I’ve been diving deep into semantic search, Google’s NLP tool (natural language processing), and also been having fun with tools highly recommended by the experts in our industry, like Surfer AI and SemRush’s Writing Assistant. Great fun. But here’s the problem NO ONE is talking about. These tools and methods can rely heavily on taking the breakdown from the top ranking sites. I.E.: • ideal range of X keywords are mentioned and its synonyms • ideal ranges of amounts of headers, paragraphs, and images These factors are given a content score based on Google’s NLP tool. What happens when the top ranking sites for a local keyword are all junk? How do you know how to format your page to achieve that ever so sweet 💯% (or as close as possible) optimization? For example, If I want to optimize for “General Contractor Augusta ME”, but all the leading sites suck at optimizing for it, then there’s no point of reference by which to base a solid f...

Is it possible to enlist a second category service of the GMB profile in Google Maps?

Kindly Help Me Please with accurate information: Two keywords of my company are "Digital Marketing consultation" and "HR consulting company in Bangladesh". I have given "Digital Marketing consultation" in the Primary Category of my company's Google Business Profile and after searching for this keyword my company is showing Top 3 in Google Maps. But when I search for another keyword "HR consulting company", my company name does not appear in the whole list of Google Maps. When I click Google Maps, my company's name is missing. But another service keyword "Digital Marketing consultation" which is a primary category service in GMB of the same Gmail Google My Business got enlisted in Google Maps. Now what can I do? Do I have to open another GMB profile for the same company in order to enter this secondary service "HR consulting company" in Google Maps or can I list this service in Google Maps with the same Gmail? su...

What is REALLY interesting in SEO right now?

Lots of negative posts flying around about the current state of affairs in SEO. Here's one that hopefully gets you thinking about what got a lot of us into SEO in the first place- curiosity. What are you seeing that is legit exciting/interesting/cool in SEO today? Some crude ideas- Novel link building practices that work? Unique content creation/scaling strategies? Massive sites that are being indexed really well? ... Anyone see something (even if its not a winner) that has you curious again? submitted by /u/coalition_tech [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/FgYt9co

Encourage users to Google your choice of keywords

Hi, I have a platform with around 20 traffic currently and around 1-2k creators are active on it daily. I want to help their content/ profile page and our platform to rank higher on Google. One of my idea is to encourage creators to share links with designated anchor texts. Anyone has other ideas on how to get people to Google particular keyword, e.g. product name + ?, or a easy way to share backlinks with anchor text? submitted by /u/RollerCoser [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/WYs3EuM

Duplicate Content after a Business Merger - How to Handle?

So this is kind of an odd situation - I’ve got a client that bought out another business and reposted all of that business’ blog content on their new site. However, the business they bought out is still keeping their original site live for some reason, so now that content is being hosted verbatim on two different sites. Here’s the interesting wrinkle - I am confident I could get access to the site that got bought out since the client still has their login credentials. But what’s the best way to handle this? Just unpublish the content from the original site? Remove the copy and replace it with a link to the new site and treat them like backlinks? This is the first time I’ve run into a duplicate content scenario where the client owns both sites and the defunct one is still being kept around, so I’m not sure if there any unique opportunities to take advantage of here. submitted by /u/S_EW [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/...

Recommendation: AltText.ai

So, to be above board, these guys do offer referral codes, and I'm not posting one here. I really just want to let you know about how it saved me a bunch of time today. We're updating a client's large, old, public-policy (WordPress) site. They have a very large image library and none of the images had alt tags added when they were created. In the past, we've used a spreadsheet view plugin and hand-entered alt tag descriptions, but this would have been untenable here. I had tried AltText.ai on a smaller site in the past and found it to be adequate at describing the images to ADA requirements, but this site has a lot of charts, infographics, and complex images. I didn't want alt texts that were like "a chart" or "a photo of a man in a red hat". The client would not be satisfied with it. I believe the service works with non-WP platforms, but I was using it specifically with their WordPress plugin. What's interesting is that (maybe ...

Updating Old, Less Useful Content - Should I do it gradually?

I've got a website with ~3,000 pages where I've been working with an AI tool to improve the content. Most of these pages had very little copy - <500 words each. My goal is to increase the copy and add value to each of these pages by making it into a more structured article with internal/external links and a better header structure. I've been building up a backlog of these and was wondering if I can update them all at once or if it should be gradual? I'm not sure if there would be some kind of red flag if I updated something like 500 pages in a day. submitted by /u/excellentlydone [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/IWd1P9u

A drop in ahrefs health score due to 301 errors

SEO for directories

Hi, I've recently created a directory in a specialist niche, it's started getting traffic which is great but it's the first directory I've made so I'm kind of figuring it out as I go along and I want to grow it as much as possible. The directory is global and has service providers in most western countries. I've created it so people can search by country, city, state etc and exactly what service they need but I'm wondering if I should create separate pages targeting 'service providers in New York, service providers in Massachusetts' etc and try to rank them on Google? Each country does have a location page for example location/spain/ but they're not optimised and I'm not sure how to optimise them to be honest. I'm using GeoDirectory. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/designimpulse [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/6owlgcT

How granular should my shopify collections pages be for SEO and PPC?

I sell a high-end product for a rather niche hobby. I'd rather not say the exact product, but for example's sake, let's say they are high performance hats specifically for mountain climbers. If you don't actively climb mountains, you would never consider buying these hats apart from maybe a gift to somebody that climbs. There is no sizing (i.e. one size fits all), but there are four different materials (Wool, Cotton, Carbon Fiber, Alpaca), and 4 different fabric thicknesses (thin, medium, thick, and chonky). When people come to my website, it's an even split if they are searching for the fabric first to later decide on the thickness, or if they have a particular thickness in mind first to later choose the fabric. I currently have 8 different collection pages each representing a fabric or thickness. Once going to a collection page, you can filter down to more specific, or click a link to a collection with a filter preset. For example, I choose Shop by Material...

How to skip SEO tactic websites using search engines in 2024?

Hello. In case you haven't noticed, browsing the internet is perhaps now more difficult than ever before. Whilst its easy to access commercial sites like amazon, or netflix, it is very difficult to find any information. SEO poisoning has turned search engines into glorified ad spaces. When I search "how to do cpr" on bing for instance I have to click in to several sites, links, scroll around etc... go back a page etc.. before I'll find actual instructions. The results are just as bad for google, the first result is looking for me to buy a pdf not in english (in spite of searching in English) of first aid, from someone who isn't even a doctor... It's embarrassing for humanity. This is incredibly concerning, and incredibly frustrating. AI has also just been making this problem worse, with some users saying that they can only get a response from some ai if they threaten to change search engine provider... Whilst chatgpt was capable of giving decent responses o...
