SEO Performance Help

To start the bulk of my SEO experience is about 10-15 years old, from the perspective of a web dev. I have a good handle on technical SEO but as far as content creation, backlinks, listings, etc. its not my strong suit.

I took on a new client earlier this year to help their ecommerce store. They are a small local dog food company called Rocker Dog. Their site has only been around 1-2 years. I added a bunch of content to their existing pages (targeting various keywords like "fresh dog food", "dog food delivery", etc.) as well as some more niche keywords like "adaptogenic dog food" (which is where they're unique, even if the search vol is pretty low) , fixed a bunch of site structure issues, meta data, menu structure, and overall UX improvements.

I optimized their GBP and I use SEMrush to help with business listings generation. I also am aiming for local SEO optimizations in their pages content because I figured that would be a good angle as the big players in the fresh dog food delivery industry (Farmers Dog, Ollie, etc) are all national/global brands, and this company does personally deliver to local customers.

They post pretty frequently on Facebook and Instagram, and I mirror these posts on GBP whenever I can. That's pretty much it as far as advertising. They're budget is very low (<$1000 per mo.) so paid ads may or may not be worth it at that rate.

I finished optimizing their existing pages early last month (Site optimizations and Google indexing ran from March-June 2025). My next aim was to add more pages for their unique offerings (adaptogenic ingredients/benefits/etc.) as well as improve page speed and create more business listings. I have reached out to various relevant websites looking for reviews/guest posting/listings/etc. but 95% of those cold emails go unanswered. I considered running paid ads but once again their budget is very low so not sure if it will be worth it.

Just looking for advice at this point. They're site is not improving as I thought it should so far (maybe its still too soon?). They're rank is increasing for the very niche terms, they're impressions in GSC are increasing (though CTR is not) but they're not really getting more visitors/conversions like I hoped they would. Am i doing something wrong? Do i need to just wait a little longer? If you have any advice on what I should focus/improve on I would appreciate it.

Legit Reviews

The google review thing is insane I have gotten 2 legit verified reviews that i ask client to screenshot and observe goolge not post them, pretend like they never happened and when i sent them the image a policy message was sent . As I was browsing through the google forum a lot of ppl are getting hit with legit reviews being removed. While all this is going on i have observe a company go from 12 reviews to 65 reviews in a two month period with some stuff that dont make sense on some of them. Seems like a new business or profile is being limited while aged accounts can have a free for fall but who really knows. Still waiting for a resolution on a if any. submitted by /u/Ok-Bowl-6167 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/zkbfgDH

Local seo vs. natiowide seo?

I've done SEO for local businesses but I recently got my first client that sells an item nation wide. Any suggestions for doing nationwide SEO? I am used to making geopages for local towns. I was going to do the same with some input from the client about what cities or towns he would like to show up in? submitted by /u/Letmeinterviewyou [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News http://bit.ly/2JHy0k0

7 SEO Lessons I've Learned in 2025 (So Far) - From Building a Competitor Analysis Tool

Hey r/SEO , I've been spending a lot of time lately building a competitor keyword research tool (more on that below!), and it's really forced me to dig deep into how SEO works today . Here are some of the key lessons I've learned – hopefully, they're helpful to you too: Keyword Gaps Are Gold: It's not enough to just know what keywords your competitors rank for. You need to know what they rank for that you don't . This is where the real opportunities lie. Focusing on these "gap" keywords has been a game-changer for my own site. (This is actually why I built the tool – to make finding these gaps easier). Relevance > Volume (Sometimes): High search volume is great, but relevance is even more important. A keyword with 100 searches per month that's perfectly aligned with your niche and audience is often more valuable than a keyword with 10,000 searches that's only tangentially related. I've seen much better results targeting tho...
