Re-posting blog posts and SEO

I read or heard somewhere that some people use sites like medium.com to repost the first paragraph or two of their blogs and put a "See the rest on our site" type link for people to continue reading. I've seen this on a few medium posts recently as well... 1) Is this a legit way of getting more backlinks from blog/forum type sites like medium? 2) Will Google penalize the backlink/domain because of reposting the initial blurb of the blog? In that case is it better to write a different blurb to introduce the blog post to use for posting on such sites? 3) Does it matter if the account you post from on those sites is branded with the domain you are trying to boost and/or links back to that domain as well or not? Still new to SEO and trying to learn, all help appreciated :) submitted by /u/imperio59 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/2SniFFJ
