Should my blog be under the same domain as the company website?

Hi, I have an auto parts online store and I want to start a company blog. Will having the blog under the same domain as the main website affect my ranking? Although logically this would increase the site's overall traffic, I'm concerned search engines will consider this website more as a source of information rather than a place to buy products (which is my main purpose of course).

GMB territory inching with service company

Seeking advice on extending our service area, while our main GMB profile states SD County, we only rank in our neighborhood but we have the team to service much more jobs.
