Confused for Local Store Online Presence

I have my new local store and wanted to make good presence over my locality, I have heard some where that the more reviews on listing, the more chance to get in top, is this true?

I have researched little bit, to get good local ranking, it will require to fix on-page, local listing as well.

Any other quick ideas about to get good results?

GMB territory inching with service company

Seeking advice on extending our service area, while our main GMB profile states SD County, we only rank in our neighborhood but we have the team to service much more jobs. The boss wants us to get addresses in these hot territories within the county and use call rail numbers to validate the GMB profile. Question: Does this still work? Will it catch up with us?
