How to choose a niche for an affiliate site?

I want to create my first affiliate site and I don't know how to pick a niche. People say pick the one you like the most and some say pick one with low competition. How do you go about it?

My goal with this site would be to make a $1k a month profit or more. And I am completely new to SEO. I have experience with digital marketing though.

GMB territory inching with service company

Seeking advice on extending our service area, while our main GMB profile states SD County, we only rank in our neighborhood but we have the team to service much more jobs.
