Ahrefs Reports 374 posts removed from Sitemap that are indexable. I will try and give as much detail as I can. What I have done to check, and where I may be wrong.

I noticed a small change in GSC lately, not a major lose, maybe 45%. Starting on the 17th. I do not think this is a hit from the Google Core Update, because I am seeing the numbers go up and down. I can also site:seach the articles and find my site. i also am coming up on GSC and Keywords still. So I do not think my site was hit.

What I did. I wasn't being indexed from the plugin Google News Sitemap, so I redid everything, the next day I saw on my GSC articles were getting minor impressions on the Google News tab. not a ton, but some. I had not seen any impressions on Google News prior.

Then AHREFS report came back saying 374 pages removed from Sitemap. I went back into my WordPress settings and noticed in the reading section that only Google News Sitemap was clicked in the Enable XML Sitemaps.

Was this my error, should I have both XML Sitemap and Google News Sitemap checked? Is there an error using the XML Sitemap and a Google News Sitemap?

Was the error somewhere else? And how can I check why I lost 374 posts that are indexable from the sitemap. To be clear, these are not duplicate posts, these are my main article posts.

On Google when i check my sitemaps I have 3...

Sitemap/Rss - 51 indexed

Sitemap-News.xml - 6 indexed

Sitemap.XML - 1745 Indexed

The google review thing is insane I have gotten 2 legit verified reviews that i ask client to screenshot and observe goolge not post them, pretend like they never happened and when i sent them the image a policy message was sent . As I was browsing through the google forum a lot of ppl are getting hit with legit reviews being removed. While all this is going on i have observe a company go from 12 reviews to 65 reviews in a two month period with some stuff that dont make sense on some of them. Seems like a new business or profile is being limited while aged accounts can have a free for fall but who really knows.
