Webp images not displaying on my older imac, only can see jpeg images.

I thought converting all images from jpeg to webp was the correct thing to do. When looking at my website from my newer macbook air, iphone, and other (newer) devices, all the images on my website show up fine.

Now, when I looked at my website from my imac which is a late 2013 imac (macOS catalina version 10.15.7) almost NONE of my images show up. The only ones that show are the ones that are in jpeg format. All of the other ones that are in webp do not show up.

Am I misunderstanding something? I thought images in webp was best for display options, but now I cant see any of them on my older imac. Is it my imacs problem?

As I was browsing through the google forum a lot of ppl are getting hit with legit reviews being removed.
