What would make a bad domain name with 0 DA worth hundreds?

I passed up on buying some domain names the other day that had expired. They had no backlink profiles. The names were awful. I checked up on them, and they were each selling for at least $500 with multiple bidders What gives? submitted by /u/cmonguysreallypshh [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/YQobKTD

SEO for image heavy blog??

Everything I have read about SEO seems to be geared towards TEXT content, but what do you do when you have a blog that just features your latest T-shirt design? Even if I describe the process of how I made the design, it too will require pcitures. There is only so much you can write about a single design... Question about using country names specifically, Canada, in focus key phrase.

Talking with co workers and based of my personal searches and looking at search volumes, it seems that many people in Canada search with "Canada" in the query because they want to find retailers in Canada. I have only been doing SEO at this company for a short time so I don't have enough experience or data to compare results yet. For some of the products and categories I have included Canada in the focus key phrase and excluded in some. For example "random search query" might have a volume of 3000 but "random search query Canada" has only 300. I feel like there are two sides to the coin, I also would like to rank high without the search term, cuz not all Canadian users are searching with "canada" as a keyword but that query is harder to rank for and many of the users are likely not Canadian. It seems like adding "canada" especially for a very popular product or category would rank far better for something like "popular-prod...

Someone has offered to write blogs for my business and I don't know if this is evil or not

This person said she read one of my amazing blogs and e-mailed me with this offer. She/her also plans "to include a few external links within the article. These will be resourceful and provide your readers with an avenue to learn more about the topic at hand should they wish to do so. I will also be including internal resources within the article where it makes sense in order to boost traffic to your already existing blog posts." I don't know what company she works with. Should I ask her that? I need banklinks, so should I tell her I'll publish yours if you publish mine kinda deal? Thank you seo experts. submitted by /u/usernamefred [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/Sb46vkL

Best Paid SEO Tool - what's your favorite, and why?

Interested in your thoughts on the best SEO tools. I'm sure an existing post exists about this, but I couldn't find one when searching through this sub. My org currently uses Brightedge. I've found their tracking capabilities to be top tier (with high-quality local search tracking), but it's weak in most other areas (backlink analysis, keyword search, site auditing) and has terrible UX. It's also v expensive. I'd like to switch platforms, but I'm looking for opinions on both Brightedge and its top competitors before we make the switch. As an outsider, it looks like SEMRush has the most features, but Ahrefs has the best backlink tracker and Ahrefs/Moz are about equal in keyword research. Calling all SEOs: what is your favorite SEO platform and why? Interested in real-life opinions - Internet articles on the subject are v helpful, but I never know what's paid promotion and what isn't. Please dump your opinion on me. submitted by /u/weekly_toe...

How do you pronounce Ahrefs?

Last year a Semrush rep told me the company name is now officially pronounced as a word, not like you’re spelling out S-E-M-rush as I used to do. Apparently there was lots of confusion about that. So now I have to ask how to pronounce Ahrefs. I’ve heard both H-refs and “aw-refs.” (P.S. Thank you, Moz.) submitted by /u/FutureNostalgiaNow [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/9EANpT4

Are there "crawlers" indexing pdfs in a directory and its hard to remove them

How to choose a niche for an affiliate site?

I want to create my first affiliate site and I don't know how to pick a niche. People say pick the one you like the most and some say pick one with low competition. How do you go about it? Buying aged website and splitting it into two

I wanted to get more opinions on something I've been thinking about. I have successfully "folded" a website into a new domain and maintained old backlinks and generally improved authority for the new site. What I'm planning to do eventually is buying an aged site and doing the same. Of course, doing my research, make sure the domain isn't being hindered by spammy backlinks and the like. But here is what I'm looking at and I wanted to see what others thought. Let's say there is a domain that is 50+ DA with some solid backlinks built up over decades. The original site is definitely in my niche and would work well with my site. So I would be looking to take advantage of the content and backlinks of that original site. "Rebuild it" in certain areas of my current site. But about 5-10 years ago it was purchased by a company that kept the old pages and content but then started using it for a different niche... not completely spammy and not 100% diffe...

One Month After Landing My First Client Here's Where We Stand

It's been officially one month since I landed my first client and this past month was all about internal SEO and touching up their site. We're talking title tags, local business schema, content, keywords, and essentially the whole 9 yards. Since making these changes I'm extremely satisfied with the progress we've made as the website has since added over 500 more organic keywords to its search appearance and granted it's not a first-place ranking or anything but it's a start. Moving forward I plan to focus more on the external side and GMB work with some backlinking and citation building but I would appreciate any extra advice you guys have to really help push this client to the next level. submitted by /u/RecLeagueHero24 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/yEzJvxe

Client Website Drops Even If Healthy

Hi folks, One of my biggest clients website is just...tanking. No major work that would directly cause this has taken place. In fact, their website health is in great shape compared to before. I cross references algorithm updates with the initial drop, but it only yeilded the November core update as a possibility. Their Core Web Vitals are pretty good, though a slight LCP hitch on mobile. GMB was messed with without my approval, and we did see some losses there. Many of the key landing pages and FAQ pages are losing rankings and traffic dramatically. The content is solid, URL structure is perfect, images somewhat not as great, navigation is simple and great for users and bots. I'm at my wits end. I can't find a single thing so wrong that this should be happening. Would anyone be willing to look it over or have any suggestions of other things to look at? submitted by /u/willisaugusto [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://i...

How to SEO for a company that has the same name as many others

Does anyone have any experience building quality backlinks for eCommerce, specifically the automotive niche?

Hello everyone! Over the past few months I've been building up my ecom site, RicerAuto and I've been hard at work on the on-page SEO. I've optimized to what I believe is the best I can. I am currently getting 2-3 unique organic search visitors a day, mostly from Google. I am now in the process of building backlinks and I've done one guest post on a 90 DA blog so far. I am aware of listing myself on coupon sites and other things but I'm mostly looking for do-follow links. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations? Thanks! submitted by /u/Twix_22 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/ekqc2Au

Total N00B here - "View Source" vs "Inspect"

I'm trying to teach myself some basic SEO. Long story short I work for a small business and we want to bring all marketing in-house. So now, instead of working B2B sales I am turning into a web developer. I have some experience selling digital marketing packages but I don't think my boss totally understands the difference between building websites and selling them. Anyway, I started building a free site on Weebly/square for practice. I noticed Headline tags do not appear in the source code when I "view page source" but they are in the code when I "inspect element" I'm using Google Chrome btw. I assumed this is a limitation brought about by the CMS. I read some threads from 2017 talking about a lack of header tags. Question is: why do header tags populate in DOM tree but not in HTML source code. Also, is this a significant problem for SEO? Are they there somewhere and I'm missing them? I assumed it was an oversight by Weebly/Square and am now...

John Mueller has the patience of a saint!

I recently started regularly listening to the entirety of the office hours shows on my way into work instead of getting the highlights off of various blogs and let me just say, John Mueller is a saint! Some of the questions he gets are...mind numbing. I think I've found myself talking to my car stereo more with him than anything else. Ever. Patience is a thing I struggle with, and this man has it in spades. I don't know how he does it every week, but hats off to John. Thanks for attending my, Ted Talk. backlink community?

hey guys! just joined this group, I am also fairly new to SEO. I am currently link building and thought about creating a community of people who have good DA sites that want to give / receive backlinks. I am currently working on 3 sites with DA in the 60-65 range. if anyone is interested in doing a guest post or link from existing content let me know! Hiring SEO Freelance?

Hi all- I thought I would come to the experts to ask if what I’m even thinking is reasonable. I was thinking about putting a website together on Squarespace for a cosmetic side of my husbands business (he’s a doc) because I think it seems very user friendly. That being said- I may not remember much from my marketing days but one thing I do know is without SEO you will never be found. I have no idea how to do it and would much rather pay an expert to beef that up for me rather than me fumble through. I know great SEO is worth its weight in gold? Is it reasonable to have someone come in once and do it? Or is this something that needs to be continuously maintained- (the SEO portion) and if so is learning the maintenance of it on the easier side? I hope this question makes sense submitted by /u/SnooMuffins233 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/nwEeaKC

What kind of topics can I write about on a guest post that links back to a Web Developer/Designer website.
