Will posting links on my popular site to my new site hurt or help ?

I have a few years old website that's somewhat popular in area A and a brand new just published website in area B. The two areas don't have anything in common, topic wise but, visitors of A may be interested in B. Would my new site benefit in anyway if I post links to it on my established site ? Do users need to see these or is it enough for the search engines to index them to reap the benefits ? submitted by /u/PIotTwist [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/Tft1IQK

Structured Data Showing on SERP, but not in Google Search Console

Does anyone know why my client's search result schema isn't showing data in GSC, but is still visible in the SERP? In GSC, the only enhancements data shown is for reviews, but there are more enhancements on the SERP results (breadcrumbs and shipping info). I am kind of confused about this. submitted by /u/Piss_Otter [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/0LAf5hb

Using Yoast I get "Page is not indexed: Duplicate, Google chose different canonical than user"

I have the following error message in Google Search Console: "Page is not indexed: Duplicate, Google chose different canonical than user" This occured with every page of my WordPress website, where I recently changed the URL. I have a redirection plugin in place that automatically adds 301 redirections, if a URL is changed and it added them correctly. Now what I notcied is, that every page has the canonical link attribute applied to it and it seems to be coming from the Yoast plugin. This seems to be what's causing the problem. Can I just ignore this or is this a setting in Yoast that I need to change? Or do I need to set the canonical every time I change the URL of a page? submitted by /u/CoffeeOfDeath [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/e9aMyUo

Jus caught ChatGPT remembering something. So no matter what they say, it does.

Earlier I had ChatGPT create some headlines. Closed browser, closed session, did other work. Came back, started a new browser, new session, changed the GPT model and BOOM it gave me the same headlines. MIND BLOWN. This is supposedly impossible. Yet it happened. Take it for what it's worth but Chat GPT 100% has some sort of recall. The second batch was verbatim. I feel like I've seen a ghost. None of this is supposed to be possible. submitted by /u/Search-Made-Simple [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/ol71In8

different names for do follow Building?

hey pros, I am building do follow links. As far as the name in the citation, do you see any issue with me using different names, like different assumed names? I don’t mean the name of the business, I mean the name of the person. The business is what is being linked to, and not the person. However, my thought and question is around whether or not,. However, my thought and question is around whether or not Google will dig in and not associate the person with the business, and therefore lessen the value of the link. Need help with SEO Strategy

So, I operate this SaaS, https://convertixo.com , and aim to rank for the keyword “convert website to app.” I’ve been working on this for a year. Initially, I hired an Indian SEO agency, paying $200 each to three different people. Unfortunately, I soon realized they were creating profile links and spam comments. Subsequently, I opted for Lapaas, an Indian agency associated with a somewhat famous YouTuber. They performed better, creating higher-quality posts and backlinks on superior websites. However, they repeated the same backlinks every month, resulting in a modest improvement in ranking from 100 to around 60. I paid them approximately $1,000. After that, I decided to handle it myself for the past three months. Since my website is on WordPress, one-page SEO was straightforward. I installed Yoast SEO, followed YouTube videos to create files and add metadata, and hired different freelancers to write blogs regularly. This month, I found a student who writes good blogs with keyword r...

Help: Is Investing in SEO Worth it for My Shopify Store?

Hi! Hope you're doing great. I've been running an online store on Shopify for about 7-8 months now. Last month, I started diving into SEO on my own, but I've realized it's a ton of work that I honestly can't handle at the moment. There's this Semrush-certified agency that's charging me $800 a month. Unfortunately, due to my lack of knowledge and experience, I'm not sure what kind of impact starting SEO work will have. They've suggested a 7-month plan to start seeing results. I'm getting around 700 organic visits per month right now. What can I expect from doing SEO? I guess it's not going to be a massive surge in visits overnight, but I'm unsure whether to make the investment or not. I would really appreciate any help and guidance, mainly to understand what to expect and to set my expectations right. Many thanks in advance! submitted by /u/hfirahs [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News h...

What constitutes keyword spamming?

I run a franchise type business and we are mandated to use the SEO consultant for the company. I'm unsure if some of the methods employed are old school and perhaps hindering our rankings. One of my concerns is regarding key word spamming, we have a services page alongside our home page and he has said for every service on the page we need to describe it using the service and the location each time, which makes it read very unnaturally. I.e on one page we have c7 different services listed then a 50 word description underneath Boiler repairs (description) Radiator repairs (description) etc For example boiler repairs would be. "We can help with your boiler repairs, as your trusted boiler repair people in paris" then similarly for radiator repairs. From a reading standpoint it reads poorly, however this isn't really a concern because looking at our analytics customers tend to just call us after only viewing on page, my concern is that this is quite ...

Does anybody here find new clients through cold email?

Are you solely depending on inbound leads or referrals for your business? I know it's common for SEO providers Normally cold outreach seems to be quite challenging selling SEO services as it's quite saturated. However, is anyone else using targeted data like veerview.ai to find more ideal prospects? So far it seems to be generating a lot stronger results with our cold email campaigns so curious if anyone else has luck finding clients with cold outreach (cold email, cold DMs, cold calls etc)? submitted by /u/leadgenken [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/lZTOj6C

Will similar article titles hurt SEO?

Building a location specific ‘niche site’. There are multiple areas within the location. Will article titles like; Best Places to Eat in X 2024 Best Places to Eat in Y 2024 on the same website be hard to rank? Or because the area name is different within the title will it not matter? Where My Legacy Ahrefs People At?

Just got this notice: We noticed that, in the last billing month, one active user in your workspace used up a total of 970 credits Unfortunately, we can't keep supporting this level of usage on your legacy plan. As such, unless you take action, your subscription will not auto-renew and is set to expire on 20 February 2024. Seems reasonable I guess. I've been hitting Ahref's servers hard lately trying to get the latest data for a new client of mine. I think all i have to do is pay $10 more a month for their new credit-based system, and the only real downside is i have a credit limit (which i don't expect to exceed under normal usage). I know some people on here have been complaining about the new Ahrefs plans / limits etc. but personally I see where they're coming from in light of insane inflation. If I have to pay $10 more a month for a comparable level of functionality, i'm happy to do so. Also, hoping to snag 1 more client so I can upgrade to their n...

Getting live events into the Event Pack?

Redirection error after changing site domain in Google Search Console

I have an old domain old-domain.com and a new domain new-domain.com When I bought the new domain, I used Google's Search Console: Site address change tool. I setup 301 redirects from the old to the new domain and used the site change address. However, after I submit the sitemap for the new domain there are a number of pages that aren't getting indexed by google, due to: "Redirection error". I have read google support page on this issue and I cannot seem to find whether the mistake is on my side. By using the tool wheregoes.com I can confirm the redirection chain is only 1 (from https:// to https://www .) There are no errors in this page (status 200). I properly updated all canonical tags, sitemaps and everything. I also tried multiple times using Google URL Checker but still nothing is working. submitted by /u/user_nams [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/TNCYz9S

E-commerce - Affiliate Style Question

I'm trying to test something out where I want to create an e-commerce using Wordpress, and I pull a ton of products from various sites whether it's amazon, cj, etc. Let's just say it's specifically Amazon for now. Is there some efficient tool/plugin where I can look for the product, and it imports straight to my site? Now, I don't want it to auto create some single product review post. I just want it to look like either a product page AND/or it automatically shows on a product listing page. So it basically looks like an e-commerce but all products are affiliate links vs it going to an add to cart option. Thanks! submitted by /u/ggpaul562 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/5GJwlQu

What Replaced Links as a Top 3 Ranking Factor?

SEO content ideas for KW variations

After doing some KW research for my first client, I found that the KD% on SEMrush is 14% making it easy to rank for. The KW I am going for is laser hair removal {location}. My current page is not ranked but I ranked 4 for “laser hair removal {location} cost” page. All the other KW variations are the same words but placed differently in the sentence. What kind of content should I develop to get the main page ranked? Should I write more content like: - laser hair removal pros and cons - how long are laser hair removal sessions That way I’m targeting the KW with different content. Is this the right track? Hi everyone, Ever since the beginning of the HCU Ive started to work on a more holistic marketing approach. I like to repurpose my content and put it everywhere that might generate traffic / leads. Wondering what other sources I can use. SEO Audit Report Form

I've been asked to perform some SEO audits for a variety of sites. No access to GSC or GA4. Just blind site audits, and recommendations. So I'm using a variety of tools: Screaming Frog, SEMrush, etc. But all of the data is in *.csv format. Most SEO templates are long and copy/pasting this data doesn't present well. Is there a way for me to take all of this data and plug it into something that can give a presentable output? Is there a tool that I can gather high volume, low CPC keywords for Google Ads?

I don't know a priori what keywords that I'm interested in. Instead, is there a way to find high volume keywords, sorted by CPC? From blog posts I've read, it looks like ahrefs has this kind of data. But do they or any companies offer the ability to just sort by keyword search volume (highest), then by CPC (lowest)? If I knew the keywords, I could just put them in Google Ads KW tool, but I don't; This is a kind of reverse-discovery. Opinion: DA Link Sellers are the bottom feeders of SEO and pull the industry down

After the massive rolling changes in the HCU updates, nobody can convince me that the largest single root cause was the market in "DA" link selling. I shouldn't have to but for a disclaimer: I'm not a Google employee (obviously) - and I am not here to police or pass judgment or soap box or "high moral ground" or to come off as some pure white hat seo or any BS like that. SEO is how you want to do your SEO - I only care about spreading of misinformation or anything that puts an only negative spin on SEO - like that Verge hit piece by the author who is too baked to update her twit My absolute #1 pet peeve: Doing SEO with earning authority somehow means we are all ok with bad content - thats a thought-limiting cliche that content snobs try to characterize SEO as. I am content agnostic because I know that Digital marketing is a 1% conversion of a 1% CTR rate of a 1% visibility score of 1% of impressions: If *some* marketers think they are building content th...

Seeking Advice: Multi-language Wholesale Site Struggling with Google Search Visibility

Hey everyone,I'm the owner of a wholesale website that's been experiencing some puzzling issues with Google Search visibility, and I'm hoping to get some insights or advice from this knowledgeable community. Our site originally featured products in two languages (Estonian and English) with around 25,000 products. About six months ago, we expanded our offerings to include Russian, German, and Finnish, bringing our total to around 60,000 products. Despite this expansion and an increase in our domain rating (up 10-15 points over two years according to Ahrefs), we've noticed some concerning trends in our Google Search Console data. Firstly, the count of indexed pages has decreased, while the number of non-indexed pages has risen. This is perplexing because we've also updated our sitemap on October 31st to reflect our expanded inventory.Additionally, when analyzing our performance in search results, there are two distinct periods where we've seen a drop in perform...

Turn off pingomatic before mass-posting?

In short: We were posting regularly on Wordpress and doing well. Then we posted about 40,000 posts (technical data for unique product parts, useful to the industry) and kept posting additional 50-100 for months. Now, all but 4 pages got deindexed. From what i understand, a bit late, that google likely saw us as spammers. Digging into it more, it seems that pingomatic could potentially be like a nagger to Google. Shouldn't turning pingomatic off in google make it less aware of us posting new stuff, and instead index us at the speed it wants? Get immediate alert from BackTagger when your keyword matches with HARO email

Not sure if this is allowed here or not but this is my first side project called www.backtagger.com Today I am launching its beta version. This is for SEO and other guys who create blogs and need quality backlinks. This is about setting up keyword alerts for HARO ( www.helpareporter.com ). You can read FAQ on my home page but to summarize, if you are already a HARO member then you receive emails from them daily. But it is not easy to go through all those emails and find the ones relevant to your nice. This is where BackTagger comes in. When you sign up (which is free), then you can enter keywords which you want to monitor. Once those keywords are found, it will immediately send you alert via email and telegram. So, basically you only get relevant and targeted alert based on keywords you enter.
