What should we charge for a client to do one-time SEO for their small website? Local SEO.

The client has a personal training / fitness / wellness studio in town and wants to get more clients as she just moved to a bigger location. She has about 22 Google reviews 4.9 stars. Problem is, when I built her website she would tell me she wanted it "MINIMALISTIC" so each service page she has only has 300-500 words. The sites new and has only been online for 3 months. We dont typically do SEO other than the bare minimum but we've been asked to quote her. submitted by /u/Tech_Webinator [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/D1TEwat

Create a Domain with an Important Keyword

Hello all, I found an available domain with the same name as a service I provide in my company. This keyword is getting around 4,400 average searches. I can buy the domain for like 7 dollars. Should I get the domain, and create it focused on the service. Of course I'd maintain the original site. What do you think? submitted by /u/JYanezez [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/fkOEMGr

Warning When Installing Search Console on Go Daddy

I'm trying to set up GSC on a client's site that uses Go Daddy, and I'm trying to do the domain authentication. When I click the verify button and then sign into Go Daddy, I get this: "Click Connect to authorize google.com to enable the service(s) domain-verification, gmail-setup for (client's site). Note: Your domain mvpdigitalworld.com is already connected to Microsoft Office 365 . This will allow google.com to potentially remove Microsoft Office 365 ." I'm not sure why it says "gmail-setup" when I'm trying to set up GSC - is this the same method you would use when doing domain verification for gmail? Or is something I'm doing wrong here? I certainly don't want to screw up the client's Microsoft Outlook stuff. Any help here would be much appreciated! submitted by /u/bicycleVSCARtoo [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/X1nMsSg

MOBILE SEO IS DEAD? THINK AGAIN

MOBILE SEO IS DEAD? THINK AGAIN 📌 53% of mobile users abandon a site if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. Here's what often goes wrong: 🔴 Ignoring page speed: Slow sites lose traffic. 🔴 Not optimizing for voice search: Mobile users need quick answers. 🔴 Overlooking local SEO: Location-specific searches are on the rise. What works: → Speed Optimization: Compress images, enable caching, minify scripts. → Voice Search Optimization: Use long-tail keywords and conversational phrases. → Local SEO Strategies: Update Google My Business, add location keywords. The impact? Businesses that prioritize mobile optimization see up to 70% more engagement from mobile users. submitted by /u/faheem_bhatti [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/IU9CA8Y

Looking for Advice

I created a tool to give users hints to the daily NYT wordle game: verbivore. io I want to drive some organic traffic here but I've never worked with SEO before and I have no idea where to start. Best Practices for Handling Duplicate Pages\Content with Multiple Menu Paths

I have a situation where a service is accessible through at least three different paths in the menu structure, so following distinct menu paths ultimately displays the same content (page). Now, I'm considering several options. For instance, we could display three unique URLs for the same content, though they would all be duplicates. However, the breadcrumbs would align correctly, so users could see the exact path they took based on the breadcrumb trail and URL structure. This would, however, create duplicate pages, but we could mark them all with a canonical tag pointing to the original. The second option is to attempt creating unique content for these pages based on the navigation path, though this would feel very forced. The third option is to create a new path (e.g., Path 4 under "services") to which all three paths would link, though we are unsure how to structure the breadcrumbs and URLs for that. I would appreciate any suggestions || || | Path 1 |Home > Menu A...

FAQ schema

Hi folks. I use a plug in to create FAQ content within my recipe posts. Each question also appears as its own individual post under a FAQ page which at first I wasn’t a fan of and decided not to show or crawl them but now I’m thinking why not add the FAQ page to my header? I don’t know if it’s odd to have a bunch of unrelated (but categorized) FAQs on a page that aren’t related to my overall website but rather just for their own recipes. I think if they rank in serps and I include a link to the recipe post it can only help right? Thanks for any insight. submitted by /u/TheKettleGuy_dot_com [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/VUxeKE2

Google is indexing my 301 redirect pages - How to prevent?

My website has a lot of pages that contain internal links which redirect to external websites. For example, the content of the page /hello might contain a link to /redirect/123 which returns a 301 HTTP status code with a Location header that points to an external website. Now, Google has recently started to index tens of thousands of those redirect URLs. This is new though, Google didn't index them before. Any idea on how to fix it? I previously tried to disallow the pages via robots.txt but that didn't prevent Google from indexes the URLs and Google also doesn't recommend doing that. I now added a X-Robots-Tag header with the value noindex to the redirects, should that work? Any other ideas? submitted by /u/cMVjwDjN2OwoJm0DYn86 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/KDntae2

Struggling with starting SEO

I have just created a web application that's current main purpose is to allow developers to upload their portfolio websites to my site just using their portfolio URL. This will in turn create a post on my website to have other developers view them for inspiration. Hey guys I'm selling a very good domain

The domain has been on Google since 2012, its peak was in 2016, in the last year it was very stagnant, but it has great metrics on Google with 22 DA and 250 backlinks (90% of them quality). You can monetize it in several ways. I want $500 for it, honestly it's a great value because I need that money quickly. Technical SEO question. Wp to hugo

Not an expert on SEO but learned a lot during the past few months. I'm a software engineer and my hobby is a cat blog on WordPress, started using ai to fix everything on my site and using Yoast to rate how i do everything, if it's green it's good(from my prospective) the site is build with blocks and under load it takes 2 seconds to load. I made a small migration for testing in hugo, ofc i don't have all the plugins and advantages of WordPress but the site is extremely fast. Does this benefit a lot in terms of technical SEO, shall i continue with purely on wordpress or create something that utilizes both? TLDR; wordpress to hugo migration for SEO is it beneficial? submitted by /u/hikhakk [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/HpEBRhJ

SEO strategy

I have heard 2 strategies from 2 different SEO agency and I am just wondering you would think is best. Some insight that might help: my companies domain authority score is currently at a 10 and we have 50 backlinks and competitors are at a 35 with 25k+ backlinks. My companies website has only been active for a year and we have only done SEO for 2 months. These agencies are very different in their backlinks strategy. They both have nearly the same keyword strategy of going after easier keywords that we can rank for. Strategy #1: get 15-25 high domain authority (40+ DA score) backlinks a month to increase the companies DA. the company is selling each keyword at $175 to reach top 5 ranks. Strategy #2: get 100+ backlinks from 11-20 DA score a month to build a foundation then start going after higher DA backlinks after building a foundation. the company requires a monthly fee and I can pick as many keywords as I want. I would like to know what backlink strategy is best. I am not fami...

Optimizing for AI

Curious to understand if anyone here has seen success in optimizing content for AI performance. I'm interested in understanding strategies for optimizing for AI search, and would love to hear some real life success stories. A few questions: Are there any specific methods you've seen success with? How do you track your success for these AI methods? Google Search Console shows errors for URLs redirecting to a trailing slash version – Why?

Hey everyone, I'm running into an issue with Google Search Console, and I'm hoping someone here can help me understand what's going on. I’m getting indexing errors( Page with redirect ) for a few URLs without a trailing slash. When I try to access these URLs, they automatically redirect (301) to their trailing slash versions. This is the expected behavior, and it ensures consistent URL structure across my site. The problem is that: I don’t have these non-trailing slash URLs listed anywhere on my site or in my sitemap. Yet, Google somehow picked them up and is now flagging these redirects as errors. My questions are: Why does Google consider these redirects a problem when it’s standard behavior to use a trailing slash for consistency? Where could Google be finding these non-trailing slash URLs if they aren’t listed anywhere on my site or in the sitemap? Do I need to do anything about this , or should I just leave it as is since the redirect is intentional a...

Important KPIs, SEOs and Stakeholders should follow:

a) Growth Rate of share of voice (SOV) of target keywords, in Google result page. - SOV should tracked at high -level and breakdown into different categories as well. b) Improvement of Ranking of target keywords. - Instead of avg. Ranking, try to track Weighted avg. ranking. - Again, just like SOV, Track ranking on high level & at different category level c) CTR Growth: - Overall CTR growth (CTR you see in GSC, at domain level) CTR growth Non Branded keywords d) Brand vs Non Brand clicks, Impression & CTR The above metrics will help one to understand how organic searches are improving or going down and what is the key reason for it: Brand or Seasonality trend or Demand or entire SEO effect. e) Organic Traffic ( GA) - Device Level - Platform level - Category wise traffic - subdomain wise (if there is any) f) Transactions & Revenue ( or leads & Revenue) - Transactions (or leads) - Conversation rate (calculate at high level, at category level, device level & ...

When is content "Too much"

On our website we sell a vast range of products, from door handles to wall panels. If structured correctly it's quite easy to generate 2000+ words on some sections and provide a good amount of information which is valuable and targets keywords we need to reach. But this leaves me at a crossroads, because myself (as a marketing manager) checks this content, one side of me sees that it's full of information, where the other side of me sees it's a bit too much. Where do you guys draw the line for category SEO content? Ill provide a link in the first comment of an example category, which I've asked my content writer to provide valuable content. submitted by /u/Andrewgray123 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/OxgkqTy

Business Directory Backlinks

Are business directory backlinks a good source of backlinks? I’m a brand new site, currently have 1 guest post from a high authoritative, relevant page/domain. SEO has dropped after doing recommended SEO optimizations

I ran Screaming Frog on my website and have been working through the recommendations, mainly about H1 tags missing from most pages (I know....terrible). And duplicate meta titles etc. But when I checked ahrefs, my score BEFORE the changes was a consistent 85 and now it's 70ish, so I've gone worse and it's not just a few days difference, it's been a few weeks now. Now I don't know whether to continue working through screaming frog and ahrefs recommendations or leave it be.... Local Topical Authority Strategy

If I want to create topical authority for my website, and it’s for local SEO, do I want to: A) create topical authority around just the topic (e.g creating articles regarding the topic) Or B) create LOCAL topical authority including both the topic and the city/location inside the article/blog posts. Does option B create more of an exact match domain? Even though the blog/articles probably won’t get traffic, vs just the topic will allow me to opt for keywords and posts with more traffic submitted by /u/NarrowGeologist4469 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/OGlAZKD

Running 2 Businesses with Different Names in 2 Different Jurisdictions

Hey all, I run two separate businesses in two different Canadian provinces under different names but offering the exact same services to the same customer base. Will I be punished by Google if the websites for each of them have nearly identical content (obviously the location keywords, business name a few other local tidbits will be different but the bulk of the content will be the same)? SEO Expert vs Web Developer

I’d like to clarify which SEO issues should be assigned to developers for resolution, as opposed to those that an SEO expert should handle directly, especially in a corporate setting—whether it's for a company, brand, or agency. Specifically, I’m working on Shopify SEO, and the website has numerous issues. What’s the best approach for handling technical SEO problems that require developer intervention, such as code optimization, image compression, and similar tasks? Additionally, what would be the typical process for collaborating with developers on these issues? Unblocked Games 999: The official website of 999 Innovative India Pvt. Ltd. is delisted from Google SERP

unblockedgames999.com is the official website of 999 Innovative India Pvt. Ltd., an India-based company founded a few years ago. The site previously ranked in the 1st position on Google for the keyword "Unblocked Games 999," attracting users who searched for and played games on it. Is Search Console hiding clicks on queries with senstive information?

Google Search Console broadly says this: To protect user privacy, the Performance report doesn't show all data. For example, we might not track some queries that are made a very small number of times or those that contain personal or sensitive information. Due to internal limitations, Search Console stores top data rows and not all data rows. As a result, not all queries beyond anonymized queries will be shown. Instead, the focus is on showing you the most important ones for your entire property. I'm seeing queries that include abortion in them. Queries where we are somehow getting 3-10x the impressions than the rest even when we show up as the 90th result. But 0 clicks for all (but one, that had a single click) queries that include the term abortion. I've even searched the most popular query that includes "abortion" and clicked through, and Search Console isn't showing it after updating the results. Is this a tracking issue with Search Console? Is it i...
