Getting personal website to show up on google

I have a personal website I made with React and I want it to show up when you type my full name into Google (fairly unique name). It’s like [firstname].github.io . But it never shows up. I have added a nojavascript h1 with my fullname, but still nothing. Any advice from people who’ve been successful? It has been a couple months, I’ve added the google meta tag and filled out their form and feel like I’ve done everything I can. I also know someone who when they type their first name their github pages website is the first result, so i know it is possible. submitted by /u/LogEducational6342 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/DYbtJgT

In today's competitive digital landscape, having a strong online presence is essential for businesses to succeed. 💪 One of the most effective ways to boost a website's search engine ranking is through guest posting. 📝 Guest posting is the process of publishing an article or blog post on another website in exchange for a backlink to your own website. 🔗 💰 Paid Guest Posting : The Best Strategy for Success While free guest posting may seem like a tempting option, it often falls short on SEO performance. 💔 Paid guest posting, on the other hand, offers several benefits that can help a website perform well in search engine results pages (SERP). 💯 Paid guest posts are published on high Domain Authority (DA) and Domain Rating (DR) sites, which can help boost a website's credibility and authority. Making GMB Verification Easier One Step At A Time

Achieving GMB verification can be a challenging task, but with some expert tips and strategies, I’ve put together during my time in SEO so that your GMB verification can be done more efficiently. Use an Aged and Trusted Gmail Account: When creating a new GMB, avoid using a newly created Gmail account or domain-based email. Instead, use an aged email, preferably one that has been around for a few years, with some social activity and profiles attached to it. The trust and credibility of your email account play a significant role in the verification process. Omit Phone Number and Website Details: Avoid providing your phone number and website details initially in your GMB setup. Such information triggers text or email verifications, which are more likely to lead to video verification requests, the step we're seeking to avoid. If the verification process does lead to video verification, delete the GMB and start the process again. Citations and Social Profiles Still Help: ...

Enforcement of this policy update will commence on July 3. Violations. Accounts found to be in violation of this policy will not face immediate suspension without prior warning. 10 WAYS TO CREATE MORE COMPELLING CONTENT

Be ultra-specific. Instead of writing in general terms about topics, get very detailed. Instead of, “A healthy diet can help reduce blood pressure”, you can write, “Citrus fruits can have a dramatic effect on lowering one’s blood pressure, specifically grapefruit, oranges, and lemons”. Share personal experiences. For example, you could describe how you personally swapped out chips for fruit and go on to describe how you felt and how it improved your health. Include statistics. Statistics are a powerful and compelling way to strengthen your points. For example, "According to these 3 meta-studies (study1, study2, study3), having fruit every day can lower one’s blood pressure by 20%" (I just made that up, please don’t take it as actual medical advice) Provide examples. A great way to do this is by literally saying, “For example”, then go on to provide 1 or 2 examples. You can even use “Another example” when you have multiple examples. Keep paragraphs short. People don’t re...

How long would it take of studying SEO to warrant not substantial but some amount of income from?

I'm not talking a tonne here either if I could even make $20 a day off of SEO work then that'd cover my daily expenses where I live right now. I travel and remote work but my work fired me and I'm in need of income heavily (maybe 3-6 months living expenses savings left). Help with how to optimize SEO

Hello Reddit, As someone who is new to SEO, I'm finding it difficult to determine the best direction to take. The vast number of options available has left me feeling stuck and unsure about how and where to start optimizing. My confusion has left me feeling lost. I understand that having a blog is beneficial for SEO, particularly for increasing the number of keywords Google indexes in my content. However, creating and maintaining a blog requires a lot of time and effort, and since I am not being paid professionally for my SEO efforts, it feels like too much of an investment for me. My main question is whether blogging is essential for ranking higher in search results. If not, what are some strategies for obtaining more quality content? I am aware that building backlinks from reputable resources is a common practice, but I'm not sure how to go about this without having quality content. In this instance, I'm helping out with a stone fabrication website. Any ideas/feedba...

Hey all, I was doing some routine inspection on my 4 year old domain the other day, and noticed that SEMrush shows a massive drop in organic traffic starting the middle of the month. Google search revenue rises 2%, slight dip in total ad revenue

In the first quarter of 2023, Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, reported a slight decrease in Advertising revenue, while Search saw an increase of almost 2% YoY. Overall impressions. Overall, these results suggest a mixed performance for Google’s advertising platforms in terms of ad impressions. Even with all of the layoffs, Google has entered the first quarter of this year with nearly 27,000 more employees than last year. Though, it was noted that “the number of employees includes almost all of the employees affected by the reduction of our workforce. We expect most of those affected will no longer be reflected in our headcount by the end of the second quarter of 2023, subject to local law and consultation requirements.” Dig deeper. You can read the full report here . Why we care. Though down slightly, Google is still the main player in the search game. How to create a catalog page without e-commerce structure

Sector: jewelry Niche: custom rings My site is the reference point for this niche in Italy. I do not sell the product directly. The potential client contacts me through the contact form-whatsapp or call. There are some keywords related to my product of users coming to my site but then I "lose" them. An example of a keyword: gold signet ring There is a specific page I created on this keyword and it ranks well. This page covers only one intent: information. I explain how to choose a gold signet ring: shape, finish, style, etc. But since I don't have a shop, I can't then push them to buy my product, for example, my collection. So I'm losing those who arrive with the intent to buy. I had thought of inserting on this page a catalog of gold seal rings ready to be sold, without customization. Question 1 : As you see it, is it a good idea to add a catalog on this page? Question 2 : Should I include a PDF catalog for the customer to download or upload a s...

SEO beginner - ecommerce site and duplicating the content for each product (changing name and colour of product)

I'm taking over from a SEO expert (supposedlyl) - the company I work for sells fashion products, they differ in colour and minor details. The SEO expert said just use this copy template, changing the name and size, for all 79 products. From my understanding and learnings of SEO this is one of the top no-no's. I get the feeling they've kind of given up though (they are leaving the company). I've suggested that whilst we can still use their copy, we also need to create new SEO copy that differs. I understand that 79 differing product descriptions is a bit of a pain, but isn't that part of the job? I have some self doubt, should I just listen to the expert and just duplicate the copy? Or write new copy? submitted by /u/spacejampixie [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/FvlupSJ

Ranking issues with local service business

Why does our Meta Title Tag add our local location? Help!

I've recently revamped our outdated website, which was terribly managed and set up. It's been about 3 weeks since the new website launch, so I know SEO sometimes takes time to update. I'm also not 100% sure if SEO of any kind was optimized in the past, and I'm not sure if all this impacts my concern: I've downloaded All-in-One SEO on WordPress to set up our SEO meta titles and descriptions, and after 3 weeks, everything has kinda updated on Google. Some of the descriptions are what I set, and some of them aren't. Some of the titles are old, some of them aren't. The BIGGEST problem I have is our Homepage Meta Title. For whatever reason, it adds our local town where the business is, at the end of the title. It is not programmed this way inside All-in-One SEO. Our business handles customers in 3 states, so we do NOT want our corporate office town to be inside the title. For privacy, here is a modified example: Johnson's Financials | Taxes, Sto...

Do mass page builders still work?

The reason I ask this is that I do have a number of sites I have built myself on WordPress over the last 15 years for my partners business and what I have noticed is all the sites we used to build page by page by hand still do very well, all the ones we ranked with mass page builders have been dropping out of the search results since the last big update says around November time, but to be fair i had noticed it early last year, that google would test them and then kick them out of the search results. So the main question is can google detect Page Generated sites and what's the way forward? is it back to manual building or is there a new AI Chat GPT website builder or WordPress plugin being built that can do it and not be detected please help. submitted by /u/KellyfromLeedsUK [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/hGnzuV6

When creating responsive ads, what metric is the most important to focus on when choosing keywords?

I'm a beginner when it comes to SEO, but I'm tackling creating a couple responsive ads for a program within a large hospital system that I work at to get my feet wet. However, I'm unsure about which metrics to focus on. I've created lists of keywords within SEMRush that show many different metrics, such as volume, click potential, KD%, etc. So my question is, are there metrics to focus on when choosing keywords for responsive ads to get people to click? Should I focus on the keywords with the highest amount of volume, the ones with the biggest "click potential", etc.? Using internal site search vs url?

In PPC campaigns for an e-commerce site, we have them set up to use internal site search w/keyword search term as opposed to manually setting up a final URL. Should we in fact be setting up a final url instead to gain any SEO benefit of users going to that page and ultimately buying? Just curious what experimentation others have done so see if there is infact a correlation with PPC, and increase of traffic and conversion from googles perspective. submitted by /u/Othelo2 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/KfuSVGQ

SKU/Article code in URL for webshop

I'm considering adding the SKU of a product to the URL. Yes, it will contain a friendly title too. I have tried searching a lot but I couldn't find anything about this online. Google crawling

I am wondering if anyone has been having issues with Google crawling their site. I went live with a new site 2 weeks ago, and added the sitemap to Google Search Console, yet none of the pages are being indexed/crawled. It says "URL is available to Google" and I "Requested Indexing" about a week ago and still nothing. The website is all set up correctly to index. Google support assured me there's nothing wrong and Google bots will crawl it but doesn't 2 weeks seem like a long time? Is there anything I should do to speed up the process like trying to get some backlinks or something? submitted by /u/arlo78z [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/BKVhAd0

I ran an experiment two websites same content here what I found

So I have a domain that is registered since 2021 DA 16 and fair amount of backlinks On the root domain I run a store with /gaming is a gaming blog. I noticed I am not getting ranked anymore, especially after the disaster that hit my website in December, 20 days offline. Now to test I copied all the files exactly the same, "It is hosted using docker" and I pointed a new domain that I was parking to the container to try things out. Keep in mind the domain is .red not even .com Couple of weeks go by what is my findings: 1- Of course it will not jump in visits or no where near, but I find it to start picking up some engagement 2- The new website is ranking where to old one is not and even if I say TITLE "NAME OF WEBSITE" nothing shows up. I have to add .com. Checking search console it says URL on Google and indexed fine 3- Old website show up in Google as "TITLE" and new website shows up as "TITLE - Website Name" My questions are: What co...

Website Migration - Could I mess my SEO by changing (adding) copy?

Hello everyone My company has a terrible website, that we are going to migrate to a new platform, while redesigning it entirely. The URL structure will be mostly the same, but the copy inside the pages will change. Because right now our pages are just large blocks of text, I will give it a new structure so users can really understand what we do. So.. what is the risk of me losing completely any SEO juice I have currently? There is some copy that will stay the same, but since I have added many "sections" the webpage structure is going to change with new copy. submitted by /u/ezioauditore696 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/NnrQPKx

Please help, google cannot fetch my sitemap, tried everything

My website has been up for 6 month, I have 150 url indexed automatically, and google still cannot fetch my sitemap. I added the path to gsc and it always show "cannot fetch sitemap" I tried : - Using template sitemap by google instead of my own - Putting my sitemap in different path - Checked using google tool if the sitemap is accessible with robots.txt restriction - Used xml sitemap checker - Inspect the sitemap from gsc - Used plain text list of url instead of xml - Waited several month - Submitting my sitemap using full url, and different way to point to the same path - Added my sitemap full path to robots.txt Everything is working and should be fine, but I still get this error. I checked my nginx logs and I just never received the request from google bot to fetch my sitemap. I get a requests when I manually use the url inspection tool, but never an automatic request for the sitemap. What can I do ? submitted by /u/jere344 [link] [comments] from ...

Is aged domain the king in this niche? Or is it just another technique?

Hi everyone, im on my fourth months of doing seo campaign as a gaming website in Indonesia. The main keyword most of my competitor after is "judi slot online", but once i look that in Google it seems that all of my competitors uses "disposable" aged domain and its not a shitty ass domain we're talking about aged african community .org page such as (ngopulse dot org), And recently 403'd to (electograph dot com) hence why im calling it disposable. Some of them even uses webshell attack to upload the landing page to local government web and ranks instantly Question for that case is 1. Did they really dispose the website because they replace the existing content and the backlink isnt relevant anymore so it declines over time? I dont expect and spoon fed strategy advice, but what am i missing about their strategy that isnt in plainsight? How to fight a link that has been 403'd so many time accross powerfull website? Should i do the same as well or na...

Citations Format Question

Our address has Suite number in it. When we setup our Google Business Profile (GBP), we entered it as "<Number Street Name Suite 200 City Zip>" but Google for whatever reason lists it as "Number Street Name #200 City Zip>." How important is it from SEO perspective to change every citation we have, and our website address to match Google's version? We already have ~60 citations in local/industry specific directories for our service business. I am considering using BrightLocal's citation builder and paying $3/citation for new citations, but now am wondering while I am building those, should I change existing citations to match Google's format? Is it worth the effort and will it create some new problem that I have to fix? I do not want to change Google's version because getting verified was a nightmare and I don't want to go through that process again or touch that profile. Our GBP ranks well mainly because of reviews. submitted by ...

Legit Reviews

The google review thing is insane I have gotten 2 legit verified reviews that i ask client to screenshot and observe goolge not post them, pretend like they never happened and when i sent them the image a policy message was sent . As I was browsing through the google forum a lot of ppl are getting hit with legit reviews being removed. While all this is going on i have observe a company go from 12 reviews to 65 reviews in a two month period with some stuff that dont make sense on some of them. Seems like a new business or profile is being limited while aged accounts can have a free for fall but who really knows. Still waiting for a resolution on a if any. submitted by /u/Ok-Bowl-6167 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/zkbfgDH
