What chunking strategy do you use when working with embeddings?

I often use a Parent-child strategy so I can use the small chunks for search and the parent for further work with the LLM! Are there any other strategies? And any other tools than Screaming Frog that can easily handle embeddings? submitted by /u/flonarr [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/bXMGLYv

Is anyone in the market for an undervalued cashflowing site

I believe this website has a ton of potential still. I don't really want to sell it, but to be honest, I just don't have the time to keep up with the SEO and to do all the optimizing it needs. Currently doing 3-4k a month in profit, I can send PnLs. I also don't want to sell to anyone, I really want someone who knows SEO and sees the potential of this. If interested let me know, I'll send you a message. submitted by /u/lilpeepeetrader [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/fnALrkQ

Anyone want to test a simple Search Console + GA4 dashboard?

Should WordPress Tags and Custom Taxonomies Be Indexed or No-Indexed?

I’ve started using TaxoPress to scan my archives and auto-assign tags and custom taxonomies. It’s a big boost for organising content at scale. I’m generating far more tags than before and now I’m trying to understand the SEO implications. For anyone who has gone heavy on tags or uses custom taxonomies, what’s the best practice? Do you usually set tags and taxonomy archives to no-index to avoid thin or duplicate pages, or do you let search engines crawl them if they’re well structured and useful? Curious how others manage taxonomy indexing when content volume increases. submitted by /u/setsp3800 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/OHJF7c3

For Those Running Topic Clusters: How Do You Architect Internal Links at Scale?

I’m building a cybersecurity content strategy with topic clusters and hubs (Zero Trust, IAM, Cloud Security, Detection, DevSecOps). I’ve mapped 20–30 articles under each pillar, but I’m trying to understand how experienced teams actually structure internal linking at scale. If you’ve managed cluster-based content before, how do you design your internal-link architecture? Do you follow strict rules (hub → cluster → cross-links), or do you let it grow organically based on opportunities? Looking for real workflows, not generic advice. submitted by /u/imhritik [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/Y7WNU2d

Most of the SEO tasks listed here are outdated, low-quality or harmful SEO techniques that Google now considers spam. Do you agree?

Many of the following tasks are from 2010 SEO. They may be considered as spam by Google and don't help SEO. This is based on Google’s 2024–2025 SEO guidelines. • Link wheel • Social bookmarking • Classified ads • Profile creation on random sites • Image sharing on random sites • Business listing on irrelevant directories • Article promotion spam • Search engine submissions • Infographic sharing on random sites • PPT or PDF submissions What are the most useful and legitimate approaches for SEO that I should demand from an SEO specialist for my review platform? submitted by /u/thinkorbit [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/pA9o4Pj

Baby name website

Hi everyone, I recently launched a new baby-name website and I want to grow it using SEO, not just random posting. I’d love advice on: • Best SEO strategy for a baby-name niche • Whether programmatic SEO works here • How to rank long-tail name keywords • What content structure works best • How to compete with big sites like Nameberry • What technical SEO matters most for a site like this If you’ve grown niche content sites before, what would you focus on first? Backlink SEO Advice Needed!

I’ve been building fulopjewelry and I recently started getting more serious about SEO. We’ve been creating blog content and doing on page optimization but I keep hearing that to really see things take off we need backlinks on top of time and consistency. Technical SEO peeps

I’m self taught SEO, and have understood most of it and put it into practices. However, one thing that I’m finding difficult to master is technical SEO. Does anyone have advice on how to tackle this? Or do most SEO experts have some but not all of this? And if that’s the case, is it worth hiring for? Paying $500 for an audit for example … is that worth it and now with ai, who can literally tell you what’s wrong but still finding it hard to fix. submitted by /u/Kuryo193 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/CueaSUp

I tested 20+ landing pages this year. Here's what actually converts (and what tanks your money)

Everyone's obsessing over quiz funnels and VSLs right now. But most of you are bleeding ad spend because you're picking the wrong landing page for the wrong situation. I've been working with ecommerce brands doing anywhere from 50K to 250K monthly, and the pattern is brutally clear. The landing page format matters way less than people think. What actually matters is matching your page structure to where your customer is mentally. Here's the framework that's been working. If you're launching cold traffic to a new market, start with a listicle style page. Something like "5 Reasons Why" or "10 Things You Need to Know." These perform better early because they let you test multiple angles without committing to one story. You're essentially giving yourself permission to be broad while the data comes in. Plus they're easier to build and easier to get right from the start. Once you have winning ads and you know exactly what angle is reson...

Google business dual-category business ranking problem

We are optimizing a dual-category business that offers both prefumes and a beauty centre under one brand. While we managed to achieve visibility at the 3rd rank for perfume-related searches, our performance for the equally important beauty centre is critically low, appearing at the 5th page. The keywords for both services are present in our GBP listing. The current category configuration is Primary Perfume Store and Secondary Beauty Centre . Now to the questions: Could creating separate, distinct Google Business Profiles for each service be an effective tactic to maximize visibility for both or is it a breach in TOS? For example Brand - Beauty centre and Brand - Prefume store What is the ranking potential of fully detailing all specific beauty treatment in the services tab? Could the store name "Brand | beauty and prefumes | be the reason(beauty instead of beauty centre as keyword, or maybe even the special characters) Would adding a Q&A help with ranking? Thank you...

SEO/AEO/GEO Tools to see scores

Should I redirect my old blog to the new one?

Long story short, I think my blog might have some kind of penalty and I decided to rebrand and start on a new domain. The point of this post is not if I have a penalty or I should have rebranded. I am fine with the decision and I’m ready to start from scratch. The question is, should I 301 redirect the posts that I moved from the old blog to the new one? I’m not moving all of them but about 70%. If I do, what do I do with the old blog? Should I just delete it or leave it up with a “goodbye” post? I don’t plan on selling those domains anyway and I don’t pay the hosting so there’s no problem in keeping it up. Could it hurt my new blog if I do? The blogs are both about programming and leadership. Old one has about 1k backlinks, mostly useless nofollow directories but a few good ones that I can redirect to the new one since I somewhat have control over those sites or they are owned by people I know . Old has DR of 28. GPT suggests I do 301 redirects for those articles but I don’t trust...

GSC Page Indexing Stopped Showing Daily Index Results a Week Ago

My blog is only 5 months old. I got all my sitemaps setup and submitted everything was good to go. No major changes or updates to anything since I set it up. I was getting good search traffic. Using Yoast then switched to SEOPress. Now back to Yoast after it appeared Google stopped crawling pages. I can submit a url for inspection into GSC and it shows the posts are indexed in Google. My search traffic has gone down a bit over the past week. I feel I’ve done something to break it but I can’t figure out why. I’ve tried using dead link checker to check for any possible broken links and resolved those. I’ve been posting 3 times a week consistently since July. I am really just at a loss as to why suddenly my page indexing stopped in GSC a week ago. How long should a new website retain a SEO agency for?

I had hired an SEO agency for a 3 month contract for my new website and the initial contract is over. I understand SEO results take time and 3 months are not enough. But I am at crossroads because I am due to renew the contract for another 3 months and I am unsure if the work they have done so far is satisfactory. But then again it's too early to say. I have seen my website ranking for new keywords but at postions like 50-70. In your experience what is a minimum time the SEO Agency should be retained once the basics have been covered. Also should I only focus on link building or have a normal seo contract as the initial audit, technical seo, meta and schema have been taken care of and I am not changing anything from the main website other than adding new blog post. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/Blueberry-Man25 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/fx4L0sk

SerpBear / Simple Keyword Rank Tracking Alternatives for Local SEO

Hey there - I've been using SerpBear for a bit, but it looks like it's been abandoned by the developer, as it hasn't received any updates in quite a while and lacks some important features such as sharing dashboards / adding users, etc. I'm curious what others are using out there to track Local SEO keywords for businesses that is more on the level of simple keyword rank tracking over time (not looking for a solution like BrightLocal, LocalDominator, etc.) Ideally, the platform would be pay-per-use vs. a monthly subscription. i have ~27k pages indexed in a niche seasonal market and need advice on next priority before december

i’m working on a niche travel product and google has indexed around 27k dynamic pages so far. last 3 months are showing around 36k impressions and 1.37k clicks. the niche has a massive seasonal spike in early december (around 1 month). so i want to choose the right seo direction now instead of wasting time. if you were in this stage, what would you prioritize next? • consolidate down into fewer stronger pages vs keep expanding long tail • focus on internal linking sprint • build dynamic faq/schema markup per route page type • or something completely different my goal is to maximize organic discovery before the seasonal wave hits in december. would love experienced input on how you’d approach this situation strategically. submitted by /u/Knuckleclot [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/lWgZfYS

From Google rank 82. to rank 6-9: our half-year SEO sprint”

We started working with a client back in December 2024. Their website, for their target keyword (“generáltervezés” in Hungarian) was sitting at position 82 on Google. Practically invisible. Their niche was tight, competition moderate, and budgets modest. We had a clear goal: get them onto page 1 (ideally top 10) organically. Here’s the strategy we rolled out: 1. Landing page rebuild: A dedicated URL with the keyword in the slug, SEO-friendly H1/H2 tags, optimized meta, internal links. 2. Content engine: We produced 24+ blog posts targeting adjacent keywords and building topical authority for the main term. 3. Link profile uplift: Over six months we placed 40+ high-quality external backlinks (not link farms, but relevant, high-DA sites) pointing to the site. The result? By May-June 2025 the client was ranking between #6 and #9 for the main term. Impressions for that keyword alone jumped from 20 (previous 6 months) to 521 (last 6 months) — roughly a 2,500% increase. Key ...

Service pages getting no traffic while city pages rank for everything - what would you do?

Hey everyone, I could really use some advice on a directory site I'm managing. The Setup: I run a veterinary directory in Brazil. The structure is: City pages (e.g., /veterinarians/sao-paulo) - showing all vets in that city with filters for: 24-hour emergency Home visits Bird specialists Exotic animal specialists Service pages (e.g., /24-hour-emergency, /home-visits, etc.) - showing all vets offering that service, filterable by city The Problem: Looking at GSC data, it's pretty clear: City pages: 1,000-1,500 impressions/week each Service pages: Less than 100 impressions/week total (all 4 combined) Even searches like "24 hour vet Sao Paulo" or "emergency vet Rio de Janeiro" are landing on the city pages, not the service pages. Here's what I've already done: On the city pages, I added content sections for each service. For example, under the Sao Paulo page, there's an H2 section about "24-Hour Emergency Vets in Sao Paul...

Local Businesses need to optimize for AI by 2029 (AEO)

Hey everyone, I was reading this article about how local businesses need to adapt to AI, and it blew my mind a bit. Apparently, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is going to replace traditional SEO by 2029. The gist is that instead of just trying to rank high on Google with keywords, local businesses will need to be optimized so AI (like ChatGPT or Google's AI Overviews) can directly recommend them as THE answer to a user's question. Think about it, instead of getting a list of links for 'best coffee shop near me,' you'll just get one direct recommendation from the AI. What's really interesting is that traffic from AI recommendations converts up to 5 times higher than regular Google searches. So if you're a local business owner, getting picked by the AI is going to be HUGE for getting new customers. The article breaks down some ways to do this, like making sure your Bing Places listing is perfect (since ChatGPT often uses Bing data), using structured data...

Headings in the age of AI crawlers

Hey all, I'm a front-end web designer, and one of my SEO partners has told me that with the advent of LLMs and AI crawlers, heading structures are more important than they used to be in the good ol' age of Google. They've requested that we use quite long and comprehensive headers, which is causing design issues, and I'm wondering if this is actually how headers should actually be used to maximize SEO. For example, take the following fake copy. Maximum Velocity Welcome to Maximum Velocity's home page! We're the fastest trucking people in the Atlanta area. Moving, freight and storage are our specialty. Price-matching guaranteed. I would previously have styled it as: <h1>Maximum Velocity</h1> <h2>Welcome to Maximum Velocity's home page!</h1> <p>We're the fastest trucking people in the Atlanta area.</p> <p>Moving, freight and storage are our specialty.</p> <p>Price-matching guaranteed.</p> H...

I have 80 web sites (mostly WordPress) who are using the old Google SEO with G4 analytics that everyone has done for years and years. I am going to begin updating all the sites using for, lack of a better term, the new Google with AI / ChatGPT configurations. This is going to be a huge job and I am just trying to wrap my head around fees, whether adding the new content as well as ongoing marketing and updating. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations if they have already gone down this path? I know it is going to be time consuming and complex compared to the previous SEO plans. Thanks for any thoughts on this. submitted by /u/RonnyRobinson [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/7uCl0Lo

How getting my brand mentioned in LLMs / AI tools?

Hi, Any best practices for getting my brand recognized or cited by large language models (like ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.)? Is it mainly about building strong authority + mentions across the web, or are there other tactics that actually help? Thanks! submitted by /u/mhfc1996 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/Gt9VuMW
