Google Adsense has flagged me for Invalid Traffic Concerns

I built a web crawler to crawl my website and generate a site map so I wouldn’t have to pay for someone else to do it. It works great and is really helping out my SEO and keyword rankings! However, a few days after I built the crawler, google Adsense said they are going to limit my ads due to invalid traffic concerns. I get why they’re concerned, but I have no idea how to make it so that they can ignore my web crawler? Or what can I do to avoid being banned from google Adsense? I worked really hard to get them to approve my account submitted by /u/AtwoodEnterprise [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/olfWyTn

Google keeps finding cannonical url to be with "www" despite my best tries to fix

As the title says i've been trying for a couple of days now to get gsc to index my website but whenever i try it returns: duplicate, google found another cannonical url. The one google chooses is exactly the same as the one i'm using execpt it includes "www" as mine doesn't. Everything about my website is without the www, and i've set the canonical tags accordingly, also running it trough screaming frogs works fine. Any help would be appreciated! submitted by /u/SnooCheesecakes3597 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/ZTvO9w6

KEYWORDS CHOICES!

Hello community. I'm trying to help ranking for a huge website that gives Technological Services (Web and mobile applications, Digital transformation, E-archiving, branding, integaration migration, and whole bunch of other services that mostly related to turning everything into digital form.) What are the main keywords I shall be targeting for my main page. Choosing the kain word to target in the service pages or other blog content on other pages can be easy. Seo outside of the US?

I’m so confused. I figured out how seo worked for the states, and now I’m about to register my domain name and I can choose between a .com and a .nl (used in the Netherlands). I went to search for keywords and “amsterdam photographer” is showing 750 hits a month, which doesn’t sound like a lot at all. Even when I search it in Dutch, or niche down, it’s not showing many hits. Im looking at Google trends and searching some Dutch terms and I looked at the keyword Familie Fotoshoot and it only has 1,900 searches a month. (Im still learning Dutch so it’s not possible for me to translate my entire site.) How does this work? Almost everyone in the Netherlands speaks English, so I’ll be able to pose and have great client interactions in English. But they Google search in Dutch. Worrying I won’t get any hits using a .com (is that a valid concern?), but worrying I won’t rank in Dutch if I’m writing in English using a .nl (I’m not even sure if it works like that?) Thanks! 😭 submitted by...

Do keywords need to be an exact match to help rank?

I'm helping with some super basic SEO for a friend's business and I'm trying understand keyword specifics better. Specifically, how much does precision matter?   For a keyword like "Gutter Cleaning Services Dallas", does it have to include "Dallas" to rank, assuming the searcher is already in that area?   Also, does swapping the word order - say, "Dallas Gutter Cleaning Services" - alter the SEO ranking? Is that considered a completely different search?   Lastly, does SEO ranking differ when a word's form is changed, such as "Services" to "Service"? Is there any overlap between these?   Appreciate any insights on these nuances! submitted by /u/i-g-n-o-r-a-n-t [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/LSyWImO

I need some suggestions.

I've been a lurking member of this group for a while having wasted money paying others for SEO help that hasn't had much impression as far as I can tell. No obvious ROI, no increase in enquiries. Website Migration: Retaining Page Rankings Question

Cross posted on /bigseo Our company is paying for an agency to redesign and migrate our website over to a new host. (Woocommerce). I understand that doing things wrong can hurt our current rankings. I haven't been apart of a website migration in the past and want to make sure I cover all my bases. Below is my current game plan. Any suggestions or if you notice anything wrong about this plan any advice is appreciated. I'll go through every single one of our pages to make sure our Page titles, h1, h2, h3, schema markup (if any) etc, are carried over for each new redsigned paged. Then I'll be going through each page to see what it's currently ranking for and try to pick out parts of body copy that are on each page (there is a ton of written content on each category page that the previous SEO put in but doesn't provide much value to the customer) that might be helping those keywords rank. The question is, the design team wants to know how much copy should be retaine...

Urgent Help Needed

I'm reaching out in a desperate situation and hoping that some of you amazing people can lend a hand. I am a recent international graduate here in Canada, and unfortunately, after three months of job hunting, I haven't had any luck finding employment. It's come to a point where I might end up on the streets as I won't be able to pay my bills this month without a job. To get by, I've been doing Uber Eats deliveries on my bicycle to cover my grocery and utility bills, but it's still not enough to cover my rent. Back in my home country, I had around three years of experience in the SEO industry, primarily working under an agency. During my time in Canada, I was able to focus on studying SEO while completing a two-year program, but now I need one year of work experience to be eligible to apply for permanent residency. This requirement has forced me out of the SEO job market for now. So, I am humbly asking for your assistance. If any of you have any tasks, whether...

How to handle old events

My client has years of event pages and old blogs (think 2011-2016) that cause a variety of issues, including HTTPS pages leads to HTTP page, missing meta descriptions, internal links with nofollow, duplicate content issues, etc. Moving forward, I am going to recommend to them to just have one page for each annual event and update that same page each year. I'm curious if it's worth retroactively fixing some of these issues by either deleting all of the old event pages, or fixing the issues on each page. These pages don't get a lot of traffic because obviously no one needs information on a 2015 event in 2023. The blogs are not event related so I don't think I want to delete them, but is it worth fixing issues on these pages if they don't get a ton of traffic? I think the answer is no but need a gut check. submitted by /u/arrowsnsuch [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/eT6rCBJ

Is building your own sites to rank them that common? Do you write content for them? What about code?

I often hear that as a SEO specialist you need to build and rank your own sites. Even at the company I work in, I hear many folks say “yeah, I got a couple of my sites that I test things on”, or what not. Many seem to have them as passive sources of income too. They make it sound so casual that it almost seems like a hobby lol. Is it that common? Is it easier then it seems? Am I overthinking? I find it hard to believe that every SEO just happens to also be a good front end dev on the side. AND a solid content writer. I mean, you need to write quite a lot of content to get to the point where you rank well. And I used to build sites for a living, that’s a whole other skill set and it certainly wasn’t a walk in the park. Or do you just subcontract, while directing the strategy? Don’t get me wrong, I want to improve and I’ll do what it takes regardless of how insurmountable the amount of work seems. But I just wanna know if I’m overthinking it to the point of making it more difficult ...

Links With /feed/ At The End Not Working

I am new to SEO and I have been trying to work things out on my own. I keep getting out of one mistake to another but I noticed something today that I'm seeing for the first. Tracking Keywords + Location

When tracking location based keywords with a tool such as SEMrush or Ahrefs, in most cases, I have found a difference in position ranking if a location is included at the beginning or the end of the keyword. Website pages' target keyword list

How do teams organize around agreed-upon/ strategized target keywords per page. Where is your target keyword list for every page of your website kept and how is it updated consistently and reliably over time? It seems like it could either be actually using the meta-keywords tags on every webpage, but somehow keeping it private from the general public (ie. competitors’ eyes) and doing regular website audits via Screaming Frog or the like, and dumping that into a new Google Sheets at regular intervals, OR, there is some kind of tool/application to do this for you. If I recall, there is some way to do this basic task in BrightEdge and/or SiteImprove, and if it’s true, that would be great to know about. But it seems like this could also be handled in another tool at the fraction of the price. Sometimes it can be handled within the CMS, but then the ability to export that into a spreadsheet and look at the entire site at a glance that way, while keeping it dynamically updated, and able to ...

Tracking a conversion across multiple pages in GA4

Has anyone encountered this? We have a conversion event that happens across 2 pages. They click the sign up button and are taken to a page. Let's say /signup. They fill out a form there and then are taken to /onboard. If I set a conversion event to track page views on /onboard, all of the conversions get credited to /signup because that is the referring page. Basically, I want to know what page they were on when they clicked the button to go to /signup, but they have to reach /onboard. In UA, we could set up a conversion funnel and I could say that /signup was the first page in the funnel. Google Ads lets you do something like this too. Cold Calling for Leads

I work with a lot of agencies who are good at providing a service and have many ways to generating new busiess. I've posted about generating meetings with local service companies for agencies and prices for a meeting range between $20-$500 per meeting. A meeting being a person that shows up to talk with you for 30 minutes and is motivated to have a problem fixed that your service might provide. Now, most business owners dont want to cold call or cannot find anyone with a skill set that provides meetings constency. For people that do not want to cold call there are 2 main reasons. The first is that you fear rejection. The only way to overcome this is to detach yourself from the outcome of the call. You have a process and follow that process and whatever happens in the call is a rejection of that process and not a rejection of you. The second, you make 1000s of dials and you dont talk to much people. If you make 100 cold calls in 1 day and only talk to 3 people then your mo...

We have other agencies reaching out to us to do this work for them so I am just trying to gauge what its worth to you. Lets assume you had to put a flat rate number on a 30 minute meeting with a local business owner and it wasnt gauranteed to close, what would you pay? submitted by /u/iversonstepsonlue [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/ni0k4pv

What is your content checklist/template when creating a website from scratch?

Hi guys, How do you plan your content to make sure it matches your SEO requirements before the website is even live? I am about to rework my website for my marketing consulting website (lead gen focus). As a PPC guy, I always had some aversion to SEO but it is time to actually get some grip on it especially as it becomes even more interesting. I want to build my site fully around SEO and provide valuable content in the form of blog posts. I will get on Lightsail soon, and content planning is my only concern. I do not mean blogs as I have plenty of ideas for it. Would you be keen to share how you usually approach such assignments? submitted by /u/ErwinPPC [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/3Z7Eni1

Is SEO Really Dead in 2023? Let's Discuss!

Hey there, SEO enthusiasts! 👋 I've been hearing a lot of chatter lately about the state of SEO in 2023. Some people are saying that SEO is dead, while others argue that it's more alive than ever. So, I thought, why not bring this discussion here to our community? After all, who better to weigh in on this than the SEO wizards of Reddit, right? Imagine you're trying to find the best ice cream shop in town. You'd probably ask your friends, check out reviews, maybe even follow the line of people on a hot day. That's kind of what search engines like Google do. They use SEO to figure out which websites are the most relevant and useful for what you're looking for. But here's the question: Is SEO still the best way for search engines to find the best "ice cream shops" on the internet in 2023? Or are there new, better ways that they're using now? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think SEO is still as important as it used to be? H...

New to Off-page SEO

I'm new to Off-page SEO and the world of link building. I have done some research on it and believe I get the fundamentals of it. However, I don't understand how to find sites to collaborate with. How do I find other sites to pay / collaborate with in order to get relevant links to my site? Are there any tools to find these? For instance; My site (and company) sells fishing equipment. I'm interested in finding blogs or other websites related to fishing that could give me some backlinks in exchange for payment. Where do I find these fishing blogs/websites? Is there any marketplace, tool, or third party website that collects this for me to browse? submitted by /u/SignificanceItchy670 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/hUskfzl

diib says I only have one keyword?

I'm a website designer and I decided to check out diib to see if it would be a good tool to use. While the report for my website is what I expected (fast load times, could have better backlinks), one thing that stood out was that I only have one keyword. I've got meta tags and plenty of content with H1 tags and H2 tags so I'm confused where I may be failing. Yes, I'm sure I could hire someone but I'm trying to learn so I can offer SEO services. Any insight for things to look for in my code and elsewhere? Mahalo submitted by /u/chrispopp8 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/SIKZJsY

Blog Submission Sites

Hello everyone. Noob question. I have been trying to get a little side project off the ground. I have been told and read in multiple articles that building a backlink profile can greatly improve the ranking of the website. My question is this, does submitting a website (it is a blog) to a blog submission site actually work, has anyone tried it? Also, what would be the right way to go about it? How do I do it to avoid hurting my site? Only some of these blog submission sites are good, so how do I know which ones are good and which ones aren't? Thanks in advance for any advice. submitted by /u/habibgregor [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/vkau1No

Is there anyway to remove/displace a highlighted review on Google?

About 9 years ago, a nasty customer left a 1 star review on our business. Didn't bother us at all, it's the only one out of ~200. Recently Google is highlighting the review as it mentions the word 'customer'. It's a really old review, so I dont care about it being there, but is there anyway to stop Google showing it in the 3 highlighted reviews, when people search our business? We have 4.7 average, but I still worry customers will see one review, and go somewhere else submitted by /u/forensicsss [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/AC81D7j

Accurate Backlink Counter

Hi all, I was looking at picking up a pre-release domain (therefore, I can't run it through google search console). I checked 3 tools and the results are so vastly different: dynadot - 9.5m ubersuggest - 291k ahrefs - 58k Is there a good and accurate source which is recommended which gives the true value of backlinks tied to a domain which you all recommend? Can Google Crawl my Sub-Categories with a drop down?

We're re-designing our category pages for our e-commerce site, and as part of the navigation from a parent category page to a sub-category page, we will be using a drop down menu. Example: Our top level category page is TV & Home Audio and we have a list of all the respective sub categories for this page for a user to click on above the facets, but now with the re-design of the page, they will become a drop down list in this format: Categories: Drown down #1 - "Home & TV Audio" Drown down #2. - "Blank" (as we're on the main home and TV Audio Page Drown down #3 - "Blank" (see above) Now if the user wants to drill down into Televisions, they'd have to click into the 2nd drop down menu and select TVs and so on. Is this bad for SEO? Will Google be able to crawl this if we set it up a certain way? Most traditional e-comm sites all have links for their respective subcategories submitted by /u/ayerayseo [link] [comments] fr...

learning SEO road map

bulk posting across multiple Google Business profiles

Sponsored Tag Inquiry

Quick question - I know rel"=sponsored" is a tag people are using now that lets crawlers know that this link was paid for or not spam. But I'm getting a bit puzzled with a site that is doing this: <a class="sponsored-link" href="\\\\\\\_\\\\\\\_\\\\\\\_\\\\\\\_\\\\\\\_\\\\\\\_\\\\\\\_">_____</a> It's a bit confusing as it's not tagged as a traditional sponsored link but it has that class part in the front. Just wondering about its relevancy and its impact on link juice - TIA!! submitted by /u/JustJare [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/Qx1GRbj

Should I post more THIN Content, or less FAT Content?

Hi guys, I am hoping someone with experience could give me a little SEO advice? (I mainly create web design tutorials for reference). Basically, I find myself spending way too long “perfecting” my posts, before I publish them. To the point where I have only been publishing around 1 post per fortnight (sometimes, less). My question is, am I better of publishing say, 2x “thinner” posts a week and “fattening” them up later when I'm in the mood? Or, is it better to create 1x post a fortnight, but making sure they’re 100% finished? And just to clarify, by thin content , I really don’t mean crap, just like 70/80% of what it could be. Any advice on this would be awesome and greatly appreciated! Thanks, ElectricRains. P.S. I know the whole quality over content argument, and definitely agree that quality is better. But, if the posts aren't crap, just not 100%, am I better off posting them sooner, so they get indexed, then make them better over time. submitt...

headline analyzers that give alternative headlines?

is there a tool like this? I know of most headline analyzers, but most don't give any alternative options. Should I just use AI for this? How ethical is this?

I just came to know a lot of link builders who have been hired fulltime also do their own side business. That is if you are tasked to publish a guest post on another website. You would also include a partner website but get payment for the link insertion instead. In a way you do the company's work but also get paid for link insertion which the company has no idea of. How ethical is this? And is this a norm in the industry? submitted by /u/shyamal890 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/EUuqlWX

Updated Website removing URL slug extension. How to mitigate SEO impact? ("about.php" to "about")

Our office hired a developer to create a new website for us (via Webflow, if helpful). One of our initial requirements was that we match all URL slugs, so as not to impact our search rankings. The old website's URL slugs ended in ".php". The new website slugs have no extension. I was told that the proper resolution is to incorporate 301 redirects to avoid broken links. This is not my area of expertise, and I wanted to confirm with a community more knowledgeable than I if this is the only/best resolution to our situation. Thanks in advance! Edit: I suppose the more appropriate question is - Will 301 redirects hurt our search performance? submitted by /u/supermawrio [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/WVTMHZO

Your experience: AdSense or Amazon Affiliate for monetizing your Blog?

I know the question will be: depends on the niche. But let‘s say my niche is in the reading topical: I could do AdSense but also Amazon Products for Affiliate (best for this niche with highest commission: books and I could also add Review sites to that books). (/uk /au etc) to (.co.uk .com.au etc) - need some advice

I have a website for an agency business that has it's main location as the root locale (/) but then a few other locations with locales (/uk, /au, etc). Would like to keep the root locale as is, but move the others to a different domain (all under the same domain, with a different company name). If I set up permanent redirects from the original site to the new site (which will have the same content that will be moved) will that be fine? Creating guide as multiple blog posts?

I am working on "Ultimate Guide for X (Part 1)" and worried that I could be doing keyword cannibalization because the titles are all the same besides the "(Part x)" part. Each section does cover a completely different topic but am concerned that this is bad for SEO optimization. The entire series will be 7-9k words so I figured splitting it up would make it easier to release in parts and easier for the reader to digest. Our SEO SaaS is almost ready! We're offering a Free beta trial to get feedback fi you'd like to participate.

Let's start with the very beginning. What does this product actually do. Scale Sleek is an SEO tool designed to scrape webpages, analyse them and improve their SEO and rankings. Which then drives more traffic, more clicks and more customers. Why I chose to go down the SEO route was simple. I have an SEO agency. There were certain aspects that were always tedious and monotonous. Utilising AI meant there was room to drive 10x more traffic and complete certain tasks in less than 1/5 of the time. I set up a landing page and did this all manually to validate my idea 😅 Yes, that completely deceived the point. However, I did get a few payments coming through. Except I knew there needed to be all the coding & work done. Especially since I grew to 100 users very quickly without actually having a product. Then out of nowhere, I meet an awesome developer who has like-minded visions and loves the concept. He's never been one to do marketing or get users. But he loves develop...

Advice on long form content !

Hey guys! So i was ranking top 3 for a couple keywords for my site for a while, then new competition kept creeping up and stole my ranks! they have long form content on their homepage, like 2000 words. I didnt want to do this because i like to keep my site simple and to the point which has worked well for conversions. But i have been told by many that google likes long form, so reluctantly I did that and i started ranking again after a while. But now my conversion rate is only 2% and it used to be 5%. I am almost certain visitors are getting lost in the long form content because it really is only there to help me rank. Yes its all relative information, but its not necessary and probably confuses visitors or overwhelms them... then they leave before even getting to my shop page. I really dont like all the words on my home page, it looks bad (to me - i personally think all long form on homepages look bad for ecommerce atleast) and that kind of stuff i would rather keep in the blog. Might be a dumb question about google 3 pack citations

I’m working on a site in a very competitive market (Atlanta) and my client is very adamant about getting his site listed in three packs all over metro Atlanta (which is a pretty dang big area) I have the google profile optimized very good and he is indeed showing up around his shop location. It’s a home service type business where they travel to jobs around the metro I have come across MOZ Local, LocalIQ and Bright Local that all offer citation building services. All three services combined costs around $100/month My question: will it make sense to use all three services to help getting his site ranked in the google 3 packs outside of his shop location area? I usually just build websites with good on page SEO and never play around with off page SEO so it’s all kind of new to me. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/icontech2000 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/AHRE6hn
