What do I do with variations of keywords?

Seo noob here. Trying to build a blog for my business and see a lot of variation for the keyword I m targetting. For example, when looking for '<festival name> in city', there are variations of it like 'city <festival name>' or '<festival name> city' or '<festival name> in city 2022'. Do I have to include all these keywords in my blog or is Google smart enough to pick the variations as well and rank for those keywords too? submitted by /u/DragonfruitThin1574 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/zfV71ZC

So far I have made sure, There are no technical issues regarding targetting. Content is in English, Written by professional writers. (No grammatical mistakes or something similar) No Manual Actions No GEOlocation targeting set The server is in the US The website doesn't even show up for its own URLs, and not even on branded keywords. I'm launching a website for an audience that speaks French and English. What should I consider in order for SEO to work correctly?

Hello! I'm working on a website that we are launching now for English and French speaking audiences - cashbox.money . This is a site that will help clients find freelance assistants, as well as boost likes on social networks in order to promote new accounts in the safest possible way. We also plan to launch our site in China, Vietnam and Arab countries, but this is our first experience and we want to do everything in the best way. But in fact, I don't know how to even approach the SEO topic in this case. I have a feeling that it is a completely different planet here, I've never launched projects in other countries. What do I need to know for this? What experience do I or people in my team need to have? Are there those among you who worked with launching your projects in new countries? Thank you all for your time and your opinion. submitted by /u/yeyvasil [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/tOarlQp

Small Question for you experts out there

Hi everyone I have a website that solely deals in Chicago real estate. I’m using DropinBlog to write my blog posts and I intend to cross post to several others depending on the topic. E.g. Chicago, Sacramento, etc. The plan is to have the hyper local posts only on the specific pages, but the generic posts (how much for a down payment ) will be cross posted on several pages. Does this make sense SEO wise? I could have them all on one page, and link to specific pages for specific items. Just over thinking at this point I think Any tips or input is greatly appreciated submitted by /u/doingandy [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/hBYuToN

[Need insight] blog on sub-directory or sub-domain

Hi, I have googled about this, but I could not see a clear winner. When creating a product, or a service or a brand on the root domain, and I also want to have a blog going on where I can write about tutorials, guides or simply writing updates or news - SEO-wise this blog should sit on the sub-directory or as a sub-domain? And why? Please enlighten me what matters as if 2022+ submitted by /u/wakhay [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/9H2zRfa

I put the entire bible on my website and it doesn't have any views after 3 months

Hi, I published a biblical website with entire Hebrew/Christian bible available in free domain in my WordPress .org website. We do have a significant number of religious people in my country and not many good competitors (some are quite good but most competitors have really ugly and slow websites), but they all indeed carry more or less the same content. By first two weeks things were great and number of impressions and clicks were raising each day to a reasonable number of 1000 impressions per day for 700 pages crawled and indexed from a total of 1100 pages published. After third week everything dropped heavily and after it I have around 5 impressions and 0 clicks per day. I do have yoast installed but never actually worked on keywords, adding images, links, etc... I never worried about SEO as I thought google would eventually figure everything out by itself! I do love biblical history and I have been writing articles about it for the last 3 months, but published only a few becaus...

Google Search Console says rankings and impressions way up, clicks and CTR way down - help!

I recently did a site redesign back in February and hopped on to check GSC data to see if I had a bump in rankings (there were some mobile usability issues I fixed). To my surprise, I did see a bump in rank but what surprised me the most was the my impressions jumped up REALLY high and my clicks went down. Click through rate went from 1.5-2% down to ~0.2%. I'm scratching my head trying to understand how improving rank and seeing higher demand/impressions could possibly lead to lower CTR and clicks. If anyone has any insight into what might be going on here, whether its GSC data that may be wildly incorrect or something on my end, please - let me know! submitted by /u/Joaleksonis [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/bYs8S7c

Building a custom organic traffic report in GA4 is so frustrating

I’ve been trying for the last 4 hours and watching countless YouTube videos to help guide me on how I can make a custom GA4 report that will filter for organic traffic only and show metrics data for landing pages on our site across total users, new users, and our conversion events. I feel like I’ve set up the organic traffic segment right, I’ll click the + button and add a new one under default channel grouping and filter it to contain organic search. I’ve even tried filtering it for exact match equals organic search and it still gives me no data. I got it to display data once with organic search as the segment, page path + query as the row, And total users and new users as the only metrics and data showed. Then, the only thing I did next was try and change the numbers of rows from 10 to 50 and now I get an error -_- Does anyone know how I can effectively set up this organic session segment in custom reports for GA4. The impressions I’ve got from it so far is that the whole things...

Subdomain vs. Subdirectory: Which Is Better for SEO?

In the company where we have a site with significant traffic in our country (Mexico), we want to start making content in another language, focusing on the preferences of another country. What should we do? Clear connection between SEO and small service business revenue

Is it possible for ccTLD and .com to both show for the same search?

I cannot find an answer for the life of me. My company is a well-established brand in the US and will be launching a storefront in the UK. Let's say we own these two domains: xyzbrand.com (20+ years old) and xyzbrand.co.uk (brand new). Assuming it will take a few months for .co.uk to gain authority, should we expect some overlap on the SERP in the weeks following the domain launch? Ex 1. Is This A Good/Bad Idea for SEO?

From a content creation perspective, should I create "location" based content. For example, if I were selling gardening pots: Should I create blog posts for "Gardening Pots in (Insert State Name Here)". Should I be doing this for all 50 states? Should I be doing it for cities/towns? The idea here is to create content, catered to certain users, to drive SEO based traffic, to ultimately drive e-commerce sales. I feel like I'm close to something, but don't fully have it locked down. I want to set up an SEO blog. Does anyone have any advice?

I'm currently in the second year of my marketing degree, and I am due to start my placement year working in a communications officer post for a non-profit. I regret my choice for placement now. I have become really into SEO and feel like I want to pursue a career as an SEO specialist when I graduate. I am currently creating a website for an SEO blog to help small and local businesses. The end goal is to do some free or cheap work to build a portfolio and then progress into an agency. I am most interested in on-page and technical SEO. I find structured data easy to understand and feel that's something I could easily do with a bit of practice on my website. I've learnt HTML and CSS basics and also played around with designing websites in dream weaver. I've done half of the google skill shop courses, including search and analytics. I'm always eager to learn more and would greatly appreciate recommendations for courses or accreditation. Does anyone have any tips o...

Dual-language site with no index on home page damaging SEO?

I just joined a new company and when I tried to run a technical site audit in SEMrush I discovered that there is a noindex tag on the home page - which obviously prevents the crawl I need. The logic is that there are 2 languages are on the site, so .com is being 301'd to either .com/en or .com/fr While I understand this, is the no index actually necessary? Wouldn't the hreflang tags be sufficient? They have abysmal organic traffic, which has many causes, but I'm wondering if this is contributing... i.e. is it causing more damage than preventing me from running a site audit? I've never added a no index tag on a home page - it seems like a bad practice. Any insights greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/light_webmaster [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/q8lOzcE

How do you simply explain to a client why a related business in a different area gets more organic traffic?

How do you simply explain to a client why a related business in a different area gets more organic traffic? Many clients seem to think all similar businesses should have the same amount of traffic. How to create content when your keywords are about selling services

Hello, I have a website for web development services. I created pages to rank locally on long tail keyword like "web dev my_city" but people keep telling SEO is about creating content as well to rank. But what keywords shoud I choose ? I can't create dozens of articles around "how to find web dev in my_city". And I can't create content around how to create a website, since my client don't want to learn to create a website but want someone to do it instead. So is content marketing for SEO worth it for me ? Domain Expired. How Do I Safely Re-Post Articles On New Domain?

My domain name expired and I missed the grace period. I have all my old articles saved, about 123 of them. I know someone will probably snatch up my old domain because it had lots of backlinks going to it. I also know I'm starting from scratch without the juice of those backlinks going to my articles. My concern is that some of my old pages are still indexed in Google. I don't know when Google will de-index them, so I'm unsure how to start again with my old articles without suffering a duplicate content penalty from Google if I put all the articles on a new site/new domain. I'm worried that whoever snatches up my domain will try to re-use my old content as well, so I want to beat them to the punch before they have a chance to do that. Good Backlinks pointing to a subdomain, help the root domain?

Hello. I have got a website on mydomain.com and the blog on mydomainblog.com. I start telling for tech reasons I can’t host it on a subfolder of the root domain, but I can host it on a subdomain like blog.mydomain.com What I was wondering is if backlinks pointing to the subdomain will help ranking the root domain too. In that case I could consider to migrate the blog from mydomainblog.com to blog.mydomain.com So basically my question is: backlinks to blog.mydomain.com will help ranking of mydomain.com I am not interested in the reverse (root domain helping the sub domain). Copywriting / SEO Question for Site Taglines

Hey everyone, So, I'm a copywriter. I recently landed my biggest freelance contract ever, writing the full website copy for a tech company. I'm a strong writer, but I have a pretty iffy understanding of SEO, but of course they needed SEO so I figured it was a good opportunity to get paid to learn how it works. The problem is, the timeline is much tighter than I expected, with the designer wanting finished taglines by next Friday. What I'm not sure about is how optimized the tagline will need to be for SEO. Generally, I just write catchy taglines that really market the brand, without considering SEO. But do I need to be doing keyword research and incorporating the keywords into the tagline? This really seems to limit my creative options. To be clear about what I'm talking about, it'll be like [COMPANY NAME] [CATCHY TAGLINE] right at the top. Any guidance would be hugely appreciated. I'm kind of stressed out of my mind trying to figure this out in such a sho...

Any advice for being an expert doctor source on articles for backlinks other than HARO?

I run an Ecommerce store with a bunch of products and was just wondering what tools there are to plug in my website and have it scan every product page and let me know what keywords I rank for and what rank I am for each of those keywords for every one of my product pages? I think Ahrefs can do that (I could be wrong), was just wondering what other tools there are and what you all prefer/why you prefer one over the other? Thank you so much in advance! :) submitted by /u/rddtllthng5 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/sdumJtX

Insert dofollow link into Wordpress Astra theme

All the links in my posts include "rel=noopener" which I understand to be part of the security set up. Good. How do I insert rel=dofollow links to enhance my SEO? Or are dofollows bad and I should not do that? submitted by /u/DoctorBubby2021 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/KnrcdqI

Seeking free tutorial on SEO maximization

I've started a blog website using WordPress version 5.9.3, Astra theme version 3.7.9, and Rank Math SEO. I've got my overall site SEO score up to 84 but feel like it's more random luck than skill on my part. I need a solid overview of the moving parts that drive SEO, not to mention definitions of some of the buzz words. If you have any favorite tutorial (video or written), I'd appreciate the links. submitted by /u/DoctorBubby2021 [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/8TShofJ

Backlinking increase but profile doesn't show them anymore

so I'm looking at a site that went from 19 backlinks in August to 500 backlinks in September. However when I look at the backlink profile for September only 30 or so backlinks are showing up. Is a 301 Redirect a correct solution for my user case scenario?

I am trying to help a friend of mine with the SEO positioning of his website. The situation is as follows: My friend's father had a small law firm with a very basic website, created in 2006, this website always results among the first positions in SERP for keywords inherent to law firm+city name mainly. This year my friend's father retired and his son opened a new law firm, in the same building as the previous one, with a new website that never appears in the SERP for the same search query. I audited the site with one of the available tools and found that the main problems were the absence of Title, meta description and h1 tags in the different pages. In addition to solving these problems, do you have any suggestions? One possibility I thought of was to create a 303 redirect on the old website that would lead to the new one, taking advantage of the high ranking of the site in the SERPs. Would this be a feasible solution or would you advise against it? ...

Backlinks From Edu Sites

Hello, I hired someone to build backlinks for my blog on 6 educational authoritative sites ( like Harvard, Stanford, Washington, and Columbia) about 2-3 months ago. The thing is just one of those links showed on my backlink profile on Search Console and none of them appeared on Ahrefs, Moz, semrush, etc… I found out surprisingly that they are not indexed yet, I don’t know why! So I started tire 2 backlinks and shared them on social media platforms but still nothing! What I know is that articles on authoritative sites indexed super quickly but unfortunately, this didn’t happen here! Could someone tell what to do! I want them to be indexed as ASAP to improve my rankings… submitted by /u/NadaGamalEldean [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/0g5K3pd

Crucial tips to increase Page speed

How to upload flowcharts?

I'm writing an article about working in Switzerland. To answer the question "What permit do I need," I think a flowchart would work really well. I also haven't seen any other page do that, so I think it'd be a great way to stand out, too. Although this is just one section in the article, it's a really important one. I want Google to be able to recognize that I have all the info in that flowchart. How do I best upload it? Just as a normal image? Custom code? Missing Page on WordPress

Working on my site and I can't find a page anywhere on WordPress. I've checked 'all pages', 'projects' and even used the Yoast SEO plugin but can't find it. Advice Needed: Bad Reviews, Wrong Company

Hey everyone! Looking for some solutions for a problem my business has. When searching our company name on Google, our website pulls up first (thankfully), but the second result is a very nasty review for a DIFFERENT company, albeit with a very similar name. Is there any way we can stop this result from pulling up? The company in question operated on the other side of the country and went out of business years before we even started ours. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks! submitted by /u/slightlyunderwelming [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/o0qwKET

Site not in direct brand search results

Hello, To not talk about abstracts this is about: movlie DOT org When I search for "movlie" on desktop I don't see the site at all in the search results. At the same time the search console tells me my sites position for that search term is 1,4. I had other people do the same search and some of them also didn't have my site in their results. I repeated the search on mobile and got my site as the first result. Search console reports that it also shows the page to desktop users. There are no manual actions shown in the search console. Searching for "site:movlie DOT org" shows the site both on desktop and mobile for me. Can someone help me understand this phenomenon? How can it be in position 1 for some and not even be on page 2-3 for others? submitted by /u/AnonKnowsML [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/Q0sTtNq

How To 4x Your Monthly Call Rate In Less Than 4 Months

Hello everyone, and welcome to my Ted Talk... On a more serious note, I helped a local business 4x their monthly call rate in less than 4 months using these techniques that will be listed below. Now I will say this isn't going to guarantee you the same results as theres always a chance that you do better or maybe even slightly less; however, I will say that you should see a boost in your website search appearance as these are the SEO techniques I have used to grow many businesses in the past. The reason I'm posting this instead of just talking about my success is often times many people in here assume I'm looking for some form of gratitude or maybe even leads coming in from Reddit; however, in all honesty, I don't care I joined these communities on Reddit to help other like-minded people who want to grow their business and create something that can last. So here it is and even if 99% of you don't take the advice it would be great to even just help a singular busin...

Duplicate content

Hi, I have a site with more than 99% of same content on quite a few pages. The only difference is the name of the locality on each page. If I understood correctly, this duplicacy just confuses Google which page to rank or which to push back. One suggested way, if I understood it correctly, is NOT to submit such pages to Google. But then, how do I get them to rank better on Google? I would meet my target only when Google is able to fetch and rack each page, irrespective of it being duplicate or not. I can't think of any way to prevent or circumvent this requirement or scenario. Any suggestions, please? submitted by /u/That_SEO_Guy [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/YU3stNx

Landed My Second Client, I'm Starting To Think I Should Make This My Career Thoughts?

When I started doing marketing more specifically SEO I never envisioned having any clients and honestly, I did it to get my foot in the door with something new or different than my regular job, but after working with my first client I've honestly fallen in love with it especially when you get to see the growth that you are helping create. Recently I've landed my second client after two months of prospecting and I'm starting to think more and more that maybe this is where I belong and it might be a career for me. I mean the client is a small auto detailing business in Nebraska with two locations and although it's not big SEO money like I've seen others on here talk about, I was able to sign them for $750 a month with a possible renegotiation as they continue to grow. I'm super excited to start working with them and at this point, I'm really wondering what if I took this thing and ran with it. I mean I know I can create solid results but I just have to work ...

Managing Domain Extensions

If these questions aren't in the right subreddit I apologize in advance. I haven't personally managed my SEO in over a decade. I have an outdated e-commerce site on my .com domain. I'm building a new one from scratch & beta testing on my .co domain, so there's no customer confusion or lost orders. My questions are, upon completion would it be better to point the .com to the new site? Or forward the .com to .co & manage the 301 redirects on the server side? I'm going to have 301's on every page regardless because the old e-commerce platform was proprietary & the urls are universally formatted in a way that I don't want to duplicate. Ultimately I'd like to have both sites active as we work to setup all the redirects, and then convert to using the .co domain exclusively going forward. Assuming it's not going to harm our SEO for some reason. The .co site is not currently indexed, but I have claimed the domain with the search engines if th...

Does Yoast take care of Google Analytics?

I've had Yoast installed for ever and recently revived my Google Analytics account. Today I got an email from GA saying: "Don't forget to enable data collection to experience the new Google Analytics." "To enable data collection, you need to add your new Google Analyticstag (gtag.js) to the header of every page of your site. You'll find it here. Once you take this step, your new property will start populating with data." It looks like a message everyone might receive as there is yet another new version of GA. Does Yoast handle this on my behalf or did GA send the message specifically to me to do this because it detects data collection isn't working? submitted by /u/billbennettnz [link] [comments] from Search Engine Optimization: The Latest SEO News https://ift.tt/7Z8IUVu

Turning reddit posts into blog posts - duplication penalty?

I have started posting on some niche subreddits on another account, and am contemplating ways to build this into my SEO strategy. My comments are typically briefs answers and I will link to an article on my website if related. My current thought is that, with an OP's permission, to start a "Q&A" portion on my website and essentially copy and paste the initial question and then my follow-up answer. Looking for some guidance from "they-who-know-more-than-I". Is this likely to hurt more than it helps? Further, have there been any related reddit SEO strategies that you have used that have been effective?
